Great to see someone finally specifically calling out maintaining tension and NOT standing upright for this exercise! (and mobile phone usage haha) Thank you for a succinct and educational demonstration!

Another great way to load if you have a portable sissy squat machine is using one side of a cable crossover, using a double-ended rope handle, from the lowest position on the rack, holding the two ends of the rope behind the head, tucked around the neck. Burns like hell in both the eccentric and concentric portion of the lift and does require someone to bring the cables to you. Not for the faint-hearted.

These suck so bad, walking afterwards is virtually impossible, walking downstairs is a slow and painful experience and walking upstairs just isn't going to happen - and, after I've done them properly, my nickname is "crawl". Love them, they are part of every one of my quad-focused leg days 😂

Thanks for this. I prefer the sissy squat to rhe leg ext because tou get a nice deep stretch of the quad muscles, which is quite difficult to get on the ext machine

Used to be called hiking. As it originates from toe strap hiking over the side of sail racing dinghys Agreed the lean back is the most important thing to hold tension. I like cuddling a gym bag to the chest as it never acts as a counter balance

How was the week without meat? Feeling lite right? Less bloated? Mouth feels cleaner? The Koffee mix didn't mix too well but the burna and tems were on point 👌🏾 The meals look good. What did you drink with them? Sissy quats: that's funny when you said you're not going back downstairs. When we perform every workouts correctly, we will be shaking 😆

Great vid on sissy squats but I would have shown the actual piece of floor equipment to use for sissy squats - don’t assume that people know which piece to use .

not a real sissy squat, the definition of a sissy squat, is a squat without the use of hip extensors. therefore the hip has to be straight, not bend like in the video. its a squat with legs fixed!!!

The aim of the sissy squat is to activate the rectus femoris. The rectus femoris both flexes at the hip as well as extends from the knee. Therefore a sissy squat should include both flexion and extension, in order to achieve what it is designed to do; activate and build the rectus femoris.
