Love this channel! I have the Checkpoint SL5 and I mounted two extra bottle holders on the forks. I can take 4 large bottles with me on the longer rides and not have to do the Camelbak. When the 2 on the frame are empty, just make a quick stop and swap out for the full ones on the forks. Go Team Checkpoint!

Those gravel rollers looked lovely. Congrats on the strong day. To answer your question about Camelbacks or waist packs, I don't use either. Wearing a Camelback makes me sweat too much and I use jersey pockets instead of a pack. I do try to keep as much weight on my body as I can, not my bike. If it's all on my bike, I'm dragging it around all day. If it's on my body, at least when I'm out of the saddle that extra weight is going into the pedals (and I'm pushing a slightly lighter bike). It's psychological more than anything.

Nice video despite missing your other half 😅. Rode the 65 last year but skipped this year to do Lost & Found Gravel Grinder (beginning of June) instead. Good job on getting through the 100 💪🏼. You go girl(s)!!!

And a great time was had by all!! Good to see things are falling into place. Didn't catch what tyres you were running for this adventure before changing back to the GR1 40s. Thanks for the share. Ride safe, have fun!!

Looks like such a cool event! Always enjoy what tires people choose to run. Just bought a Checkpoint too, SL6 etapp like yours, and even trying to figure out how to go clipless.
@erinohagain98412 жыл бұрын
That’s so amazing!! You won’t regret the checkpoint!! We both have one and they are ROCKETS on the road and gravel alike. I cannot recommend going clipless enough!! It makes a huge difference in your pedaling efficiency and power distribution. When you are first learning how to clip in, try going to a park with a large grassy area where you can practice clipping in and out. Try doing one foot at a time, and once you have mastered one, you can do then try do both clipped in. You will get it in no time!! It’s A lot more intimidating that it needs to be and I know you can get it!! Let me know if we can help you with anything else 🤍

Fab clip. You did great. What was your nutrition regime? What did you eat/drink and how regularly? How many calories approx did you burn and how many did you consume? Thanks 😊
@lindsaynader2 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank! 1 bottle of water minimum per 1 hour of riding, when it’s hot I go through more. I started with 100g of carbs in one bottle and a scoop of electrolytes in my other bottle and kept re filling my bottles with the same powder every time I re filled with water. For me (125lbs) I need a minimum of 50g of carbs per hour, however I doubled down for this race and bumped to 100g. I try and not take in too much sugar until the last 3rd of the ride to avoid a sugar crash. I munched on gummies, oat bars and pb&j sandwich anytime I felt a little hungry but to be honest I ate at least every hour. On the last 3rd of the ride I introduced Beta Fuel energy drink powder which is 1:0.8 maltodextrin : fructose ratio and this is a quick absorbing isotonic ratio that is easier on the tummy and doesn’t require as much water. It’s my last ditch energy dump powder for when I need to make it over the hump. The ride took me 7:45 and I burned 4,572 cals. I probably took in 3k calories while on the bike.
