@Chuckakhan That depends on whether the person is in the will or not. I've seen many instances where some family members weren't on the will so they got nothing and couldn't take anyone to court because the passed person didn't put them in the will. Just because you're a family member, doesn't mean you're entitled to money

When it's family, there is less trouble if you just give them something. Why he gave her 100k is a mystery. Fact is she can't contest the will since she did get something. She was already in debt, and after hearing about the money OP was given, wanted that. She was likely wanting them to buckle under the threat of legal action as she couldn't afford anyone to defend her case.

OP has an estranged sister with a gambling addiction who broke into their family’s home looking to steal/destroy the father’s will so she can get more inheritance. Unfortunately, people like Karen will hold the grandkids hostage and even go as far as to be so vilely petty in not letting her see her grandkids because she didn't bend Karen's demands. It's peanuts when you have 200k of debt.
@TessaBain
@TessaBain 7 ай бұрын
@@TheAstyaniithat would immediately pay off half the debt so it's still not peanuts by this logic. If you think 200K is a lot of debt, you must, by default, also believe that 100K is a lot of debt paid off because half of a lot is still a lot. In fact, the bigger the number you're talking about is, the more of a lot it is. If you were desperate enough to borrow even 100 bucks and someone offered to pay 50 with no strings attached you'd probably be grateful. Multiplying it by 2,000 like in this case should see you be even more grateful to the person paying off half, not less. Especially considering a lot of people could pay 50 but 2,000 times that? Not so much.

@TheAstyanii
@TheAstyanii 7 ай бұрын
@@TessaBain Realistically, you're correct since most debt collectors are very lenient as long as progress on paying off the debt is being made. Also realistically, the sister will waste the inheritance on more gambling. However, if the collector is done with you and won't give leniency, having half of the money doesn't matter and they'll still be repossessing everything else you own to minimize their losses.

The sister wanted the real will so she could look it over and copy it on a fake will but change things so it would seem like she gets everything. Even then her plan would have serious flaws in it. And with her gambling addiction she sees the money as fuel for more. And then finding out about the farmland and windmill in her mind it was "more money that should be mine. Pay off debts or make the one's I have even deeper." In the second story either this was said wrong or what she said doesn't make sense. "She asked if she could forgive me." Shouldn't that be "She asked if I could forgive her?"

a toddler doesnt need toys or candy, but it doesnt hurt to give it to them sometimes. shes not a bad parent for doing that, maybe youre just assuming that because it doesnt equate to your parenting. yes you can tell them no but that doesnt stop a toddler for throwing tantrums, not that you should give them something for throwing one. sometimes you want to spoil your child. but idk, i could be taking your comment the wrong way. let me know if i am.
