When it's family, there is less trouble if you just give them something. Why he gave her 100k is a mystery. Fact is she can't contest the will since she did get something. It's peanuts when you have 200k of debt.
@TessaBain7 ай бұрын
@@TheAstyaniithat would immediately pay off half the debt so it's still not peanuts by this logic. If you think 200K is a lot of debt, you must, by default, also believe that 100K is a lot of debt paid off because half of a lot is still a lot. In fact, the bigger the number you're talking about is, the more of a lot it is. If you were desperate enough to borrow even 100 bucks and someone offered to pay 50 with no strings attached you'd probably be grateful. Multiplying it by 2,000 like in this case should see you be even more grateful to the person paying off half, not less. Especially considering a lot of people could pay 50 but 2,000 times that? Not so much.

@@TessaBain Realistically, you're correct since most debt collectors are very lenient as long as progress on paying off the debt is being made. Also realistically, the sister will waste the inheritance on more gambling. However, if the collector is done with you and won't give leniency, having half of the money doesn't matter and they'll still be repossessing everything else you own to minimize their losses.

The sister wanted the real will so she could look it over and copy it on a fake will but change things so it would seem like she gets everything. Even then her plan would have serious flaws in it. And with her gambling addiction she sees the money as fuel for more. And then finding out about the farmland and windmill in her mind it was "more money that should be mine. Pay off debts or make the one's I have even deeper." In the second story either this was said wrong or what she said doesn't make sense. "She asked if she could forgive me."
