@@francis6888 I'd say realizing you screwed over your own kid and ruined their life over a lady who belongs to the streets counts as "suffering", even if it is your own fault. Even if Narrator *wanted* to fix the relationship, he was not in the right headspace to start doing it. I'd be surprised if he could even be in the same room as Dad. What really grinds my gears is how Dad's fam wants OP to forgive dad, but don't care about OP's much greater suffering. And they're not actually apologizing for what they did. At least Dad tried to apologize and make amends.

The dad betrayed and hurt OP more then Gina ever did the moment he said "My wife would never say that!" and then had the GAL to readily believe that OP said the insults said to them later. Granted, OP did in fact say those things, but it's telling that he never once blew it off and instantly punished her for it, while never once taking what was said to OP seriously. Yeah, that was fucking obvious less than 3 minutes in. Tolerate someone you don’t actually like? Sure. Convincingly pretend to like someone you don’t? Maybe. Convincingly pretend _to your parent_ that you like your step-parent when in fact you hate them? Not likely. Do all of the above and _never_ slip up, for years, even though the person you hate is constantly tormenting you? No 12 year old is _that_ good an actor. I guarantee you there were red flags, many of them painfully obvious if you know what to look for. Dad just wasn’t enough of an actual father to notice. It takes a village to raise a kid. Likewise, there is no such thing as an abused child who wasn’t failed by _several_ adults. In this case no less than 3.

I would have never answered that phone call from the dad, or not stay on the line. Nope, after all that I'd have had him legally disowned. Did it to my mom when she assaulted me then lied and said I tried to kill her then used transphobia to try and make me look bad even though in court they thought SHE was a man 😂

while what the father did was terrible, we should all remember that he was also likely being manipulated and abused by this woman, and if everyone here shits on the father, just know you're playing directly into the hands of that treacherous Gina woman and giving her exactly what she wanted, she's the one winning. I don't blame the kid for not forgiving the father, and there is certainly a good amount of responsibility on his shoulders, but what happened to him was terrible as well and ultimately, Gina is the one who conducted all of this like a puppet master. She should be receiving a majority of the hate and blame.

Honestly wouldn’t say OP is the asshole if he said to his father and his father’s side of the family to drop …., telling them that “instead of looking into the matter you automatically assume I was guilty.” And this is the reason why I’m against the whole believe all women. A spiteful woman can destroy a man’s life forever, I was almost a victim of spiteful women…if you make a claim, provide proof otherwise get out of here with those lies, because at the end of the day the only people who are truly hurt by those lies are real victims.

Oh, so she just happens to keep quiet until OP gets something good from his dad, what a joke. The father and step mom are pathetic. Also, OP changed his phone number so the dad basically gave out his new phone number while saying to bombard him.

The fact that Gina came out with these allegation at the same family dinner that the father announced his will and who would inherit what casts shadows of doubt, the father should have noticed that Gina's conduct in suspicious on that notion alone.

Picking your wife's side and not even hearing your own son out to see if the story is true or not on something that serious is extremely damaging on the father to child relationship something to me is hard to repair with that type of accusations you can't just say I'm sorry and hope that apology would sweep that under the rug

She was a step mother this is why she was doing this to the OP. My mother is my own mother and has been treated me like the step mother had been treating during the OP's childhood. My father knew about all that she had been doing and tried to make her stop, but he couldn't. My father died last year and the treatment continues. I plan on moving away just to be away from her and all her shit! This story triggered a lot of emotions in me while I was listening to it because to some extent it reminded me of myself.
