Dear Sister Janet Meade, I want to tell you that I listened to your song in 1974 when I was 8 years old , and I want to tell you that it meant so much to me, and I came to learn more about God because of you. I have tried to serve God all my life because of you, and I remain inspired because of you. Thank you from the United States. CHRISTOPHER

My choirs while I was in the US Air Force sang her version of "The Lord's Prayer". I wish we could do it again today. It made me learn how to play a B7 chord. Thank you to Sr. Janet Mead.

In the early 70's, "God Rock" hit the airwaves. There was.. "Spirit In The Sky" by Norman Greenbaum.. "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison.. "Jesus Is Just Alright" by The Doobie Brothers".. rock operas - "Jesus Christ Superstar" and ""Godspell".. and then came.. "The Lord's Prayer" by Sister Janet Mead.. (that's still rocking it out on the airwaves today).! Thank you Sister Janet. 💜

Love this! I grew up with the famous "Lord's Prayer" song at a Dominican convent in Sydney in the mid 70's. Fond memories. I like Sr Janet's views - I am a singer too! Thanks for the post 😆

God bless her always. I still have the 45 and I sang her version at Mass every Sunday in our Youth Choir. On the flip side, Brother Sun and Sister Moon (which was featured in the movie about St. Francis of Assisi I believe) is also beautiful and another of my favorites.

This, is how we should strive to be in life, a very down to earth...Gods earth, of beliefs, it's kind, loving, and full of song from our Hearts and from our Soul, you don't need to know the Bible front to back upside down or the other way around, or even word for word, just to know it is there for us when we need a special comfort during times of any struggle that is shrouding us, just be kind to others as best that we can and Bless them the Best!

WOW!!! I truly hope this wonderful woman is now singing her song to the Lord Jesus Christ. And when the "dead in Christ" meet him in the air upon his return, she won't be as an old lady riddled with cancer!!!

In her long speech she did not once mention or acknowledge the guy who actually wrote the music for that worldwide hit, and half of the songs on her album - Adelaide's own Arnold Strals. He should be recognised and inducted into this thing. Yes Festival Records made a mozza out of the Lords Prayer but never wanted to know about his subsequent prolific and genius songwriting. Tragic.
