She had been on point for a while. One thing she has to slightly change her views on intellectual property. We as black folks create things and the dominant society takes it. This is the land of wolves you must think like a wolf and still maintain you culture. Do not let them get away with a penny slip send a message to the next person that your not to be fucked with.A lot of conscious people like to build but the can't destroy.white women understand that part of the business. Keep your intellectual property in tact and take them to court if they violate. Black folks need to learn more about the legal system of business not just criminal law. We know more about criminal law than business law. It says something,it says that we only see up to that point.

WoC's creativity is always questioned and/or stolen by mainstream. She and several people noticed the similarities from her book from 16 years ago within OITNB. Clearly, the [series] is based off of the book by Piper Kerman. But, the series also has a team of writers. The legend Sister Souljah is not telling a lie and she played it like true professional OG in the game.

I love this sista! She's always on point! I like how she mentioned the writers from "Orange is the New Black" stole her writings. And she went on to say, "when you are a writer, a creator, you recognize your words anywhere". That is the point that I've been making about all this "organized gang-stalking and electronic harassment" shit I've been experiencing. At the end of the day it's brain hacking, "remote intellectual property theft" (if you doubt maybe you should brush up on your knowledge on the capabilities of modern technology) by people who don't respect you enough to just ask and pay you. None of these college athletes, especially NCAA players, should play at all unless an agreement is met where these athletes receive a piece of these multi-billion dollar industry's pie! Straight up. It's absolutely absurd these kids are plucked from their hometowns to generate massive levels of wealth for these corporations, schools, coaches, etc., most of whom never go pro and with their great sacrifices, when all is said and done, they go home penniless. There should be a sort of trust fund set up for all of these revenue generating players to receive after their college careers are over. And, the better the team (the ones who generate most by going furthest) the larger the fund. Period.

Totally agree! In Europe kids go pro at 17 at times especially soccer atheleted but such a small percentage actually make it. At least here in the states their education is paid for and EVERYONE knows many college athletes receive envelopes and often times their parents also receive $$$ in some way. Perhaps not direct cash but value non the less. In Europe if you don’t make it to the big leagues that’s it bye bye no paid free education etc etc but then again most post secondary education in Europe is close to free if not free. The problem here is that many of the other college sports are funded by the earnings produced from the Football program or basketball program for example. Massive overhaul is in need but one would have to ask themselves which system is best. In the States it’s all about the dollars. Whatever the case may be what is paramount is a good education and if that ride is paid for. So many other opportunities and doors may open. Getting to the pros is almost impossible. You may lose your ability to be an athlete but no one can ever take away your education/degree/experience.

But would've sued that drama because they should know better and bring Soulja on as a writing talent with the writing team for 'Orange is the new black' . I would've kept on writing my material on the down time inside the court room. Janet Jackson was sued by Des'ree the singer for words or structure that was too similar from one of her songs . The point is people have to know not to steal from you and you show them your worth and demonstrate that through the courts system. I've read all Sista Soulja' books but this video made me realise I need to start sharing them out.

Beautiful spirit of a person.. remember meeting Chuck D one morning heading hone after a concert he did in East St. louis the concert went bad. Anywho, Chuck came into one of the airport stores that morning. His cap pulled down, yet I recognized my favorite artist. He came in. i immediately shut the gate . I said to him, "You Chuck D ." He laughs a little . I said again no youre Chuck D ." Anyway it was a crazy funny morning . Yes I understand what she speaking on bout Chuck D . Wonderful, so glad to see her continue to excel in her heights of life. My niece loves her work. I would love an autograph copy of her book for my niece this year . How can I make that happen. Yes, I'm listening to this storyline. Knowing your worth on this world. . That right we create they copy keep moving sister so many people are hearing your words in depth. I think the "based on a true story," thing the creators of "Orange is The New Black," might be a little overstated and marketing magic. While telling the story of gang culture in a prison is pretty standard a prison tale. She pretty much rebooted the "ethnic," book genre in the early 90's. Everybody pretty much scavenges black culture for free ideas and adds their own seasoning to it, repackages it, and calls it their own creation. I think that's what she was making the point of. oh yeah, shout out to Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thick, and Elvis... completely original musical geniuses.

If you read a book, or if you know a story, then you will know when someone has taken part of your idea. No one has the exact same idea at the same time. The show could have been inspired by her book, but the creators didn't want to seem like they were biting. They could have just got with her and talked with her about it, if that is the case. Anything could have happened.
