I forget if it’s said in this show but the lenses of Scott’s glasses are made of ruby quartz, so they’re already specially made. I imagine ruby quartz contacts would probably be uncomfortable. Damn, wait, contacts might not even work because once he opens his eyes he’ll blast them away. Can you slip contacts under your eyelids with your eyes closed?

I think the problem with Scott using contacts is that, to put contacts in your eyes your eyes have to be open, he'd basically have to push them in against the force of his eyebeam (plus they have to be a specific material/color to hold against his beams I'm pretty sure, so he'd basically be walking around with fully red eyes, the same shade of his "sunglasses", which would definitely look a lot weirder to his peers X'D) Definitely agree that he should get a band for his glasses to just, secure them behind his head though, so they won't just fall off, pff

X-Men was never really my thing. Always preferred street level heroes like Moon Knight, Daredevil and Spider-Man (remember when he was a street level hero? Good times). But X-Men Evolution made me love them

I grew up with a VHS of the first few episodes of this so this is extra nostalgic for me. While I normally am not into stories where the main themes revolve around discrimination I did love watching this show and the 90’s version as a child.

Wrap around glasses might be it but cyclops power is literally always on I think it was from a childhood head injury if I'm remembering correctly so isk how eye trying to force a ruby contact in his eye while he's blasting would work 😅

More reactions to this show, please! My only criticism with the episode is how Magneto terrorizes Mystique at the end. She's easily fearful of him and submissive, but all other episodes make her more frustrated by him rather than afraid. Perhaps if they'd gone more in-depth in "Shadowed Past," they could explain why she has both fear and hate for him.

seeing the view totals i can understand why you quit, but it's a shame. this show after season 1 gets really really good. builds brilliantly off the groundwork laid in the first season, adds the New Mutants, cool storylines, etc. i recall it was one of the bigger quality jumps from start to finish of any show i've ever watched.

In the 80s and 90s X-Men was arguably the most popular or second most popular Marvel franchise and it definitely sucks that as time has gone on it has faded so far into the background. There are reasons why but I don't want to clog up the comment section and I'm sure someone will come along with a better explanation haha. Great reaction!

About being underrated, it's kind of ironic that the reason Marvel sold off the X-Men rights but not the Avengers in the 80es-90es is because X-Men was the cooler, hipper, trendier and more popular and contemporary product. So that left them with the Avengers to make movies about...and of course they became a huge success and now more people are familiar with them than the X-Men, but it went that way precisely because X-Men used to be the bigger phenomenon.

I love that the 3 Major group had their era of Greatness: From 1961 to 1979 the Fantastic Four were the most famous group; From 1980 to 2007 the X-Men had the spotlight and now from 2008 to now, the Avengers have their Moment to Shine. (and laughing in the corner there Is Spider-Man Who Is Always famous)

Unfortunately, Marvel (the creators of X-Men) came into financial trouble many years back, and had to sell the rights to X-Men to another company (Fox? Maybe?), and so is not allowed to make X-Men media. Only the current owners of the license are allowed to make X-Men tv shows and movies, and that company is not prioritizing X-Men or giving them the time that they should be.
