It must be really terrifying to learn you have a condition like that. Kitty going through stuff is a lot to take already, especially since she found out falling in her sleep which is scary to think about. All of them must’ve been through something like that and it must’ve been traumatic.

While Kitty was being forced to go with Lance, I think the writers were trying to say that Lance would've eventually twisted her to see things his way once she lost her support group, so she shouldn't "let" him take her now.

I recommend TMNT 2003. It's kind of long, but it's really well written, and strikes a good balance between the dark elements of the OG comics and the goofy comedy of the 80s cartoon.

Okay, so, before I heard the talk at the end, I started writing out a whole rant about you guys not considering Jean’s perspective and the pressure she was under- I have a soft spot for every one of these characters and you guys seemingly trashing her (while praising Lance, who at the time was being manipulative) set off every protective instinct in my body. Having heard the end discussion, I want to apologize for being presumptuous. I myself have anxiety and depression, so I completely understand the whole “gotta calm her down first” attitude- I still think Jean’s approach made total sense for her character at the time, but I get why you were freaking out about it. (As a side note; the last guy I watched react to this episode had the total opposite opinion on Lance, so the juxtaposition was a little jarring. Which probably didn’t help.)
