In this video I'll present an important topic to you where German is different from English.
In English you have the two verbs "lie" and "lay", but in German you use their counterparts "liegen" and "legen" somewhat differently.
Also, there are two words for "sit" (sitzen / setzen) and two words related to "stand" (stehen / stellen).
In this video I'll teach you how to use these 6 verbs, as always with lots of example sentences.
We'll also look at reflexive pronouns, an important port of the German language.

Dein Deutsch ist wirklich klasse. Man hört keinen Akzent. Du hast aber ein Verbpaar vergessen: hängen und hängen.

Danke dir. Mein Deutsch war früher mal 100 Prozent, aber da ich es heute alles andere als täglich benutze, ist es nicht mehr ganz so wie früher. Das mit hängen stimmt, da gibt's ja auch eine transitive und intransitive Form, mit unterschiedlichen Vergangeheitsformen. Danke dass du mich darauf aufmerksam gemacht hast. :)

As I understand, it is basically the same as in Danish. In this sense Danish is much more similar in logic and structures to German than to English. For me as an "outsider" (Hungarian) it is very interesting to see the many substancial differences between English and German, the former is also a Germanic language but with very strong Latin (French) and, as I know, also Celtic influences, while German has remained a purely Germanic language. For me (I repeat, as an outsider and not linguist) Dutch is extremely similar to German, while the Nordic languages are somewhere between English and German.

Hi! Sounds like an interesting plan to teach your German Rottweiler some commands in German. Maybe the German language is still in its genetic information. You can find the common commands for dogs here: herz-fuer-tiere.de/haustiere/hunde/hunde-erziehung/die-8-wichtigsten-grund-kommandos-fuer-den-hund The pronunciation of the unique words can be found on forvo.com for example. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck with the project!
