manifold vacuum sucks the accelerator pump down when the engine runs. i remember i had an 86 f150 with a straight 6 that had this same carb (pretty much) an that thing ran pig rich all the time. figured out the accelerator pump diaphragm was toast and letting fuel past, sucking it right into the intake of the motor. plugged that hole, and it ran beautifully (as well as a carb with no accelerator pump would run anyways)

Looking it up LMC online shows. 1973-1979 F-150 Floor pans $39.95 each Which is a good deal. Or if you want to be a super cheap skate , you can cut some metal from the bed, if you can find any , and use it to patch the floors. Since you need to replace the bed with something else anyway. I don't know what you might have in mind, but for a old work / trail truck like that one. Just a good old fashioned type of flat bed with a headache rack would probably be a excellent choice.
@misfittoys888310 ай бұрын
40 bucks for pans is a pretty respectable price. Problem is, everything underneath is so crusty, there isnt much to weld to. I should have gotten footage of the underside while I had it outside and sun was shining. It is horrible

Good morning from Cape Cod 🦈 the rust in that generation Ford really affected its structural integrity. Had a 78 F-350 4X4 weather 351m And a four speed granny. The cab was good but it was used as a landscape truck and they left clippings in the back all the time that rusted the crap out of the floor. The farthest back floor support would you know the bed walls was rotted to hell. I put a piece of 3 × 3 angle iron welded to the chassis and to the bed, good to go. Being a carpenter I put a sheet of 4 by 8 3/4 inch pressure treated plywood on the floor 😂 I drove that truck for years. Ford life 😂 anyway I'm glad that that truck has a good drivetrain and chassis, whatever you choose to do with it I'm sure will be pretty cool 😎 keep up the great work and the awesome content Ron 👍✌️🇺🇲
