***FREE CHINESE SCOOTER!!!! TaoTao 50! Will It Run?***

While driving home from my dads house this afternoon after cutting his grass, I saw a guy pushing a motor scooter to the end of his driveway. I figured that he was putting it at the end of his driveway to sell it but much to my surprise he was actually throwing it away!! So I turned around and grabbed it. Let’s dive in and see if we can get this thing up and running!! Free moped!!

Picked one up today for 25.00. Same as yours except red, Its all here has a title have the battery on a charger probably gonna need a new one. I have the same attitude learn, tinker and enjoy! She said the same thing about carb issue. We will see. Thx for the video!

I decided to get a new carb for my wife's bike. It didn't have an outlet for the rubber hose at the bottom so I have to take the carb out to drain any water in the gas. Went from 55 mpg to 72.

These are not bad mine is at 4100 miles and with regular maintenance it's really reliable

I would have discarded the gas. Even if it had a full tank, it would only be just above 1 gallon @ 1.3 gal.

you need to adjust the air / fuel mixture screw i have mine like 2 circles out or 1 full rotation i use my bike without the filter and runs great

my doesn't idle has all new everything replaced and still won't idle dies at red lights and stop signs every time I let go of the throttle it dies instead of idles I'm about to scrap the pos

You need a headlight bulb. You have hit on about 90% of the trouble plaguing Chinese scooters. Bad owners. If you need a vehicle that you only need 40 mph-tops-a 50cc Chinese scooter will do you all day long.

Steer far away from modifications. Don't leave gas in it. Tao Tao scooters are incredibly rebuildable.

No I have exactly the same one and my scooter is almost 100% modified aftermarket let me tell you the reason why one of the main reasons you have a lot of problems with these freaking bikes is what the guy Pluma magically got himself into when he bought it from this dude same situation with me to a hole that I bought it from he wasn’t taking care of it and keeping up with the maintenance sadly to say and I bought mine for two Hunter he was trying to sell it for 230 but I talked him down he will try to help me get rid of it

I told him this will be my only vehicle and I needed one so I guess he how was Simba middle and wanted to help and get rid of it anyways if he would’ve kept up with the maintenance I won’t be having as twice as much is the problems as I have now the only problem I have is the starter once I replace the starter it will start up and run by things to him it was just so much problems but I can’t really complain about it I did get it for $200 they normally go 4000

@@daviddicks35 I know the feeling with it all too well o bought mine brand new and paid $1300 for it and I've been hit twice on mine but I've had to replace the battery spark plugs and the fuel pump and gas filter and just this year I had to replace the whole carburetor in it but the issue with mine now is the throttle cuz when I let go of it, it dies immediately and doesn't idle when it's supposed to but yeah they gotta be maintained regularly if they aren't a ton of problems will happen so I understand you there the shop I got mine from wants to charge me $150 an hour just for routine maintenance but as for now I'm not riding since it's starting to get cold here in Indiana but as soon as spring comes I'm gonna do an oil change and charge up the battery after I get a new tag since it's required by law I know it kinda stupid but it is what it is and I hope everything goes well with yours.

I have a similar scooter and in China, odd numbers are bad luck. So it is not 50cc, but rather 49cc which makes it legal to drive in most of the USA without insurance, registration or even a driver's license.
