I have several buddies that were in the military and they point out several things that are inaccurate or just plain wrong, they feel as though movie/game developers don't do their homework when that happens. I'm just glad that there's an effort being made to be authentic whenever a form of media tries to represent them in any format. I believe that games and movies nowadays have too much of a "feel good" quality to them, and this game is the perfect vessel to show the ugly truth of what these soldiers go through to regular people who live in a blessed sheltered life. So many people sleep in a comfortable bed and eat novelty food without thinking of the cost of their freedom to do so, this game can help people realize they shouldn't take what they have for granted and should be thankful for those that put their lives on the line. P.S. I'm not a service member, I'm just an ordinary American who has a deep respect for those who serve my country.

So I wrote a paper on this game back in college, and actually got an interview with Peter Tamte. I have a lot of faith in this game, as he shared with me how much research and effort they put into it. When I asked him years ago if he still wanted to finish the game, he said absolutely and that it would probably be the most important thing he ever did with his life. He's been an awesome guy to me, and took time out of his busy schedule to answer a bunch of questions from some random Marine in college for a term paper. I think it's going to be an amazing work of art

Why did they not appear in the US bombing of Fallujah with uranium in 2004 and 2005 in the second wave war or the second events for information. There were isolated civilians, and to this day, cancer diseases and birth defects are common in Fallujah, specifically the industrial district

I think that video games about war are a great thing, when done right that is. Games like Black Hawk Down or Delta Squad, or even Medal of Honor or Six Days, to me are a great way to give more of an insight into what goes on behind the lines of traditional media. It can help people understand how serious war can be, not only on the location that the conflict takes place, but the people fighting in those conflicts. The good thing about games like these, is the ability to show people who didn't want to serve, or could not serve, what fighting in a war is like. I hope the best for Six Days and it's devs this time around, hopefully they don't go bankrupt again. I wasn't allowed to serve, I got denied when I tried to go in, so to me, it's always 'pleasing' to get to see games like these. I already know how bad war can be, but to be able to see and hear more of what goes on, it gives a different perspective.

MG and Sniper rifles, stolen armored vehicles -50 cal MG mounted on 4x4 Toyota Hilux pick up vehicle -firing holes everywhere and many more.... as our (Counter Insurgency) COIN aircraft pilots told, they can see bullets that's intended to hit them as they dive down to drop the bomb.. Enemy's fire back to COIN aircrafts with their 50 cal. Numbering 975 terrorist where claimed to be killed in that 153 days in Marawi while about 300 more was able to escape and regroup, the government launched an offensive to the 300 more terrorist in 2018 in Maguindanao, the terrain in mixed urban, forest and marshlands. Our military learned a lot from this war, reviewed and change the doctrine to adopt to modern enemy tactics and employed new training methods with more focus in marksmanship and urban combat. Also started acquisition and distribution of new equipments and body armor for our troops

There was a game called Delta Force: Black Hawk Down on the PS2, the game is heavily based on the events in Somalia and nobody battered an eye, because the Black Hawk Down movie. This game is going to continue to be controversial because people already push a narrative about the Iraq war (especially Fallujah) so they’re going to push against it. Edit: The shit they complain about is just infuriating. I was 7 when this game was announced, I’m in the Marines now at 19. This game was developed with the help of veterans that served in Iraq and to throw this game out because it offends someone, is absolutely stupid.

Personally growing up playing video games I always understood that real war was not fun,funny, or a light topic. Men and wemon fought and died, mom and dad's lose kids, kids sometimes lose parents as a result of war. But I also was not allowed to watch cartoons so I watched the millitary channel and history channel, so for a kid I had a pretty in depth understanding about war, and the effects of war from a historical perspective. I think if you can get kids and teens to understand the severity of what ever conflict the game is about, it can serve as an amazing learning tool in my opinion and personal experience. Now that I'm older this game peaks my interest because it is based off eye witnesses accounts, based off real experience and emotions of real Mariens. The more real it is the better I think. I dont know much about therapy, but for this to serve as a therapeutic tool I'm assuming it's got to be as real as you can make it. Never in my life did I play call of duty and get a chopper gunner and say to myself, im gonna join the millitary. Learning about real war and some of the most badass individuals that put everything on the line, to save there men or stop the enemy was a far more effective recruiting* tool. Much love too all the veterans that share their stories. (Edit note, I misspelled recruiting)

I just think it's a bit of a far reach saying it's a recruiting tool when it's made for entertainment purposes. Movies,and TV shows about the millitary could inspire anyone to join, but it was not the purposes to make people want to join. Like any millitary commercial is ment to be a recruiting tool, you wouldn watch them for fun. The warriors wanted commercial is badass tho, I would watch the for fun.

This game is makes me sick as a gamer. The Iraq war was a disaster. Many innocent lives were lost. Many innocent civilians are now tortured and scarred for life. This was a war for resources and geo political gains. Projects like these, wash over the grave realities of this war and encourage players to sympathize with these atrocious efforts against a sovereign nation and a sovereign people. This project makes a villain of arabs, like so much media has done including our mainstream sources of news. It's not worth it. What is more precious than the dignity of life around the world?

I don't see this game being VR. That just looks like the way the trailer was made for cinematic value. But in regards to your question, yes, I'll be trying to play this game the second it comes out. I find highly accurate games like this interesting as hell. Nothing about this game seems controversial. At the time, there was a lot of controversy. But I hardly see this as a recruiting tool as much as it seems like a genuine retelling of history for the viewpoint of those directly impacted. I think the first bit of media that planted the idea of joining the military in my head would've been Hurt Locker. Nothing of this game seems like Call of Duty, which seems like more of a recruiting tool than anything. It feels like a game that would make people think twice before signing up. In fact it reminds me of an FPS version of Spec Ops: The Line. We need more games like these. They're important to our history.

Well depending on what they show in this game it will either attract or deter people. But if they show the war in Iraq as some kind of fun time with just big explosions and action as a real representation of the military, it would be misleading. Thoughts?

I mean they literally use call of duty for recruitment and that’s more of a fun time style game this seems more historical and as told by the people who were in the actual battle. I’d say this will be for more of the ghost recon tactical shooter and not a run and gun arcade style but even so I don’t think video games are bad for recruitment especially this one as it seems more geared toward the seriousness of combat

I think that every game that shows anything in history has a necessity to show it in extreme truth. However saying it's not political is intellectually dishonest. Every war is about Politics, inherently so. Rather or not the individual soldier agrees with it, they have to act on what their country decides.
