Dead right about the fret finish - well polished, shiny & smooth, and also about the truss road. My Martin DM has very slight a "swan-neck" at the joint end due to the deep set truss rod!. I too like the "crispy" sound of my Eastman.

I own an Eastman Arch top acoustic. It wasn't inexpensive, but it sounds and plays and looks as good (or better) than top end American made Arch tops costing more than twice as much. The case is a little less quality than the Gibsons but is OK. I think they have stopped offering the all acoustic arch tops now and only offer them as electrics. I'm glad I got mine while they were still available. I frankly would have chosen a Gibson L-series for the cool factor but they cost nearly 5 grand.

Excellent points! Eatmans gives the most vallue..Take a 1200$ Martin and compare it with a 1200$ Eastman and you will see what vallue is all about.

Hey my asian guy from Amplitude Music, tell me...is Eastman acoustic guitars are better than Blueridge acoustic guitars? Since they are both made in china, i really want your opinion cause i can't decide if i will buy an Eastman or a Blueridge??? Blue ridge seems to be a very well made guitar too!

William Morton , thank you very much! I have my eye on either slope shoulder mmodels e-20 ss, or the e-10 ss, or the top of the line..the E-40-D! This one is just like the Martin D-42, except for the head stock..but man...1/3 of the price....and sounds as good..if not better!!!

Eastman makes beautiful guitars, but until they move from dovetail, glued neck joints to modern, bolt on necks, they won't be able to effectively complete with Taylor...

Well they're trying to get certain sound, I'm sure. Taylor doesn't compete with them already, as their guitars cost much more.

Set Necks vs Bolt on Necks will be argued over as long as the 45 vs the 9mm - I'm 74 - I don't give a you know what about longevity - I'm attempting to purchase an Eastman - If I can make my way thru this Damnedable Computor Obstacle Course - BUT - I'd also love to have a Collings - or 2 - or more - which, of course are Bolt On's - they're ALL capable of producing MANY MORE Good Sounds than most of US are --- Snortin' Morton

Martin has used dovetail neck joints for years on their high end guitars - nuff said...

Some other 'features.' The neck profile is not for everyone. The frets feel like speed bumps. Even after a professional setup, the frets were a problem. I've owned 3, and tried out a 4th. They were all sent back to where I bought them, except a E10D, which I sold. They are great sounding guitars, but there needs to be some change in the neck/frets for these guitars to work for me.

the earlier ones like from 2007 to 2012 or so have terrible frets. i had to levell mine amd crown thrm etc to make it playable. now it plays like a dream
