Maybe a Movie with all the original actors , they all grew up so a 2h-long film that takes place 15 years later when david & keith are 50 , claire 37 , ruth mid seventies , brenda 50-55 , maya 17-18 and willa 16 .. i know alan ball will never produce this , even if the ending we see (everyone's death) is real and not in claire's head as she's imagining it while driving , a movie wouldnt contradict it or ruin the perfect finale we had. Of course a very good scenario would be required , not like "el camino" (almost the whole film is filled with fan-service scenes, and i personally consider that the scenario was not good , it was average at best )

I was in high school when six feet under began. I enjoyed most of the HBO original series that were around back then, but I especially loved six feet under.. I had no idea at the time of course, but this show truly helped me to start to learn how to heal. I'd experienced so much death and tragedy at a very young age it was like I'd become numb and desensitized to it all.. My dad was dying of lung cancer during this time. He was my only parent and my best friend. But I just refused to accept the inevitable, although it was all around me. I would never allow myself to FEEL and to EMBRACE the fact that my dad wasn't going to be around much longer. I remember him telling me that watching this show brought him a bit of comfort. Helped him to accept his own impending death.. I've been rewatching scenes here lately and just balling my eyes out as I relive all these moments and memories.. To the directors, producers, writers, cast, and crew, THANK YOU. This show meant so, so, very much to me and I'm forever grateful to have experienced this show during such a painful and vulnerable time of my young life... ✌️💘

Seeing someone say it was a promo for S5. Makes much more sense. The actual ending was a masterpiece that had built to the most satisfactory ending in tv history as of yet. Breaking Bad was the only show to ever come close and its not looking likely to get bumped out of that spot. The best part is it almost seemed so obvious, but just because it was the perfect culmination and natural progression of the story, and thats what made it so brilliant. Just a masterpiece

This show is so uniquely human. It shows these people with real, tangible struggles. And it’s presented in a way I had never seen before and honestly have not seen since. Any other show- I have puke probably hate Brenda, Billy, Keith with some of their behavior. But it’s presented in a way that shows how human they are and how mistakes were made. We as humans are not our flaws or mistakes. We strive to be the best we know how and that’s all we can fuckin ask for. Everything else is STATIC. It’s fucking filler. And it’s portrayed so beautifully. The finale? Holy crap. No show I have ever watched has made my heart swell and break at the same time. This show isn’t just entertainment. This was truly a work of art and holds such a special place in my heart

Absolutely my favorite series of all time. I re-watch this series at least once a year and it always makes me cry at the end. And I don't understand what is so wonderful about the show to make it above and beyond all the other great shows that i have watched. Feel so connected with each character and love the fact that each evolves over the five seasons of the series. The first time I watched the show, felt connected most with David however since rewatching, think my favorite character is Ruth. The entire cast is Stellar but Frances Conroy does such an amazing job with Ruth and just love the way she went from being a child to a caretaker to a mother, to a wife and a mother herself and she never had that time to grow into her own until the story picks up on Christmas Eve when Nanthaniel was killed in the car accident. Ruth eventually did grow into her own and evolved and it is just a masterpiece to see. As flawed as Brenda is, it was Nate that I was most disappointed by the end of the series. Several years ago, there were rumors that there was going to be a reboot of Six Feet Under but unfortunately that was not the case but I don't know that they could ever top the original.

Why can't this be an alternate ending? Maybe the promo was initially the idea pitched for the series finale? I personally find this more abstract and thereby more meaningful. They're all driving to different places, they see each a different version of themselves and, as well know now, some hints of their own eventual fate (Keith's vehicle in which he is shot; Brenda not being together with Nate; Clair being on her own). They all stop somewhere and what are they looking at, the same thing that they're looking at? A mere natural phenomenon like the sunset or the symbolic end, that a sunset represents, of the show and, eventually of life? As david and keith hold each other's hands, they seem to have made a higher commitment to life and with each other. This is a fucking amazing show and I, who analyses scenes too much, just cried a bit.
