Johnny, thanks for taking us on a nostalgic trip down memory lane with this vist to Darien Lake. The Ride of Steel looks scary! 🎢

17:54 B&M's coasters are FANTASTIC. SOOOOOO smooth. Every one of their coaster types I've been on has been great. I particularly enjoyed Gatekeeper at Cedar Point.
@JohnnyStrides Жыл бұрын
They are but... I think I much prefer Intamin hypers. I've been on just 3 but they just bring the intensity in a way B&Ms can't (they're all fantastic though lol).
@JewishMusicToronto Жыл бұрын
@JohnnyStrides I got my first taste of Intamins at Kings Dominion, on Intimidator 305 (so, a Giga, technically). I loved the intensity. But I rode Twisted Timbers the same day (as well as all of the other coasters in the park) and immediately fell in love with RMCs. Intamin makes FANTASTIC coasters, just the same. Maverick and Millennium Force are out of this world.

I haven't been to Darien Lake in 22 years, live about 30 minutes away. I've been watching a lot of videos on it this summer and they really haven't added a lot since then, but a number of attractions have been taken away. It's a shame the current owners don't want to put money into the park to expand it. In the late 90s-early 00s when they kept adding new things Darien was always packed.

the less they invest in darien lake the more it will dwindle and eventually die. i live in wyoming county, and i rememer how it was when i was a kid. when i was little all there was, was predator and viper. then they started adding, and stopped some time ago

Good day, Johnny Strides, thanks much for this & what a nice & dismal day to be touring around on the US side of things! Nice to see that side of the world albeit no far from Niagara Falls, Ontario! Glad you enjoyed it when you were younger, & you are still a kid at heart! Hope you had fun!! Cheers & keep safe!! 🥰🥰🦅🦅

Thanks for this positive video! I find DL gets a lot of hate, but it’s a good park. Yes I know it’s no CP, but it fills my heart!

8:56 Some of Cedar Fair's other parks have some interesting classic loopers that were follow-ups to the original Corkscrew, but I still prefer Dragon Fyre. Guess I'll have to check this one out if I get the chance to visit Darien Lake.

Most Americans were already back in school by Aug 30 so it makes sense as to why it was so dead on a rainy midweek day.

It was probably slower because of the weather but this park never gets a big crowd anymore

The single train operation is active throughout the year. Was the most asinine decision they have ever made and makes wait lines ridiculously long during peak times.

That genuinely sucks!

Indeed it does. Luckily for us locals, Cedar Point, OH is only a 3 to 4 hour drive away. Difference in experience is like night and day. @@JohnnyStrides

Ahh good old Darien lake, you were not that far from me! Seen breaking benjamin and chevelle there. The predator back when i went there was a pretty rough ride and they tried to smooth it out, not sure what more you can do with a wooden one lol

This is why one must obey height,age and weight restriction's and operator's must exercise these rules for safetyAs sad as that info was For those of us that were ignorant of that tragedy that took that disabled veteran's life It is a good thing you made it common knowledge for any amputee's attempting the same sort of ride in the future Who would then choose another "safer ride"❤
