Wicked cyclone is in my top 10 for sure... superman would be there if they got new restraints but it's still top 15 that layout is elite

I haven't ridden a huge number of coasters, and probably as a consequence of that, Wicked Cyclone and Superman are easily my top two. Despite SFNE being very, very far from my favorite park. Superman's restraints aren't great but they don't bother me as much as they do other people. I mean, for comparison, I've ridden Shambhala, the huge B&M hyper at PortAventura and its restraints are obviously, obviously superior to Superman's, but that doesn't actually lead me to rank Shambhala above Superman.

Which day were you there? I went this Monday, 6/17 for the 3rd time this year. A few notes... 1. After visiting Hersheypark and Knoebels earlier this month, I can say that this park does not hold a candle to Hershey! 2. Riddler's Revenge has been down all 3 times I have gone. 3. Did you catch the pause at the top of the Wicked Cyclone lift hill? It wasn't doing it earlier this year, nor last Fall. I always ride towards/in the back, so it was very noticeable when it would practically stop before heaving me over. It felt like a weird disappointment as I was used to being flung over the drop. The last ride was exceptionally fast though. I am agonizing between this and Wildcat's Revenge as my current #1 out of 46 (or 47 for those who count mountain coasters which I do not). It feels like WR runs better for much of the day, but WC picks up so much steam that the rides over the last couple hours really deliver. Basically 6:00-7:00 WC is my #1 ride experience of all time, truly next-level, but earlier in the day WR wins vs early-day WC.

All I want is a roller coaster that launches into a 10-second long heartline roll at 70 miles an hour. Just take the kingda ka launch and instead of going straight vertical with it just go up at a 45° angle while heartline rolling. Give one second breather to get your bearings that you're really high up and then go into a drop with a bunch of head choppers. As far as I'm concerned after those two elements you can just go back to the station lol

Funny thing is they removed a really nice flume to put in Goliath. So we lost a water ride for a roller coaster that didnt last many years. Not that Six Flags could ever afford it but the Goliath/Flashback plot is roughly the same size as Copperhead Strike. that would be a perfect kind of ride for this park. and for what its worth...they were doing soil testing there back in April. No dark ride? Man throwing SHADE on Houdini. I fully agree with you tho. How is the B&M the ride with the worst ops? Ive seen the crews on Wicked Cyclone and Superman absolutely pump out trains like its nothing but you just chill on the train on Batman forever it seems. Ive been in the Wicked Cyclone station where they were running that place like a boot camp screaming at people to get in the train and don't touch the lap bar while both checkers raced down each side. Man, if only you could have experienced Superman with T-Bars. Never forget what that fat idiot who couldnt take no for an answer or that dumbass ride op took from us.

Sucks that the last new coaster they gave us, Goliath. Was great the first time I rode it. Then it started vibrating your brain and having problem after problem only to be torn down and us losing our newest biggest coaster and them not replacing it. And they used to have a Log Flume Ride, Shipwreck Falls located in crackaxle canyon. My favorite ride when I was little.

Technically Goliath wasn’t even new, it was a relocation! And semantically, even Wicked Cyclone was just a reimagined Cyclone lol. So it’s really been since 2002 😬

I agree, we need a good launch coaster (or any launch coaster) at SFNE, which I also consider my home park (though Compounce and Quassy are closer to me), and it's been a long time since we got anything significant that is new, the last being Supergirl. (I definitely can't count the animatronic dinos to the kiddie ride an "upgrade.") I also have not ridden Riddler's Revenge since it was... Mind Eraser, actually. I will have to check otu thenew trains next time a friend is in the area for a credits run.

I’m going here tomorrow for my 4th time! Batman was my first bigger coaster and it’s my personal favorite in the park :) I just hate how long they take to load it. I rode wicked cyclone for the first time last month and man that ride is insane. My thighs hurt for three days afterwards lol. I didn’t know it was intense before going on it so that was a surprise lol 😂 I still have not done Superman though. I’m scared of it, it’s so big and that drop scares me. One day I’ll do it though. I’m sure it’s a great as everyone says it is but it looks too much for me still. I always do pandemonium first since that was the first ever ride I did here. It’s a good way to get myself prepared for other rides, and it always gets super busy.

Batman was my first big coaster too!! If this helps with Superman, Wicked Cyclone’s drop, while shorter, is way steeper and IMO more of a 😱 feeling, at least when it comes to being out of your seat, than Superman

As much as everyone, including myself, would love for them to do a launch coaster on these two plots, the infrastructure just isn't there and wouldn't be there without some major rehalls to the small town that the park resides in. In. They just don't have the power available to run a launch coaster, and they would have to pretty much rerun new lines directly from Springfield to get the power that they needed

@@Posirep Compounce did put in Phobia Phear Coaster which for a park that size is a major ride (and I just like it), and by all reports they seem to have brought Wildcat back from hell and are trying to fix Boulder Dash. That's not nothing. Canobie... well, they doubled the size of their waterpark, though I think it still needs more capacity. Nothing new for coaster fans though. I think I actually like *being* at Canobie the best of the three but they probably do need to put in something new to attract attention.

Yes. Six Flags NE definitely needs a launch coaster. I do believe 2025 will be the year we’ll finally get it. I just hit 1,200 rides on Superman. I keep my hands under on my lap before they put the lap bars down so I can get some airtime, it works EVERY TIME.

I'm going to make my first ever visit on July 4, coming from Ohio. What an I expect for crowds on a holiday? How many hours will we need to have a pretty complete day? Does Wicked Cyclone have metal detectors or are lockers just "encouraged?"

Holiday’s are always a gamble. They could be slammed because everyone’s off OR completely dead because everyone’s out with family/friends. I’ve personally never been on July 4th. If you get there for opening, I’d say a good 5-6 hours should get everything done. WC’s does not have metal detectors but if you don’t have zipper pockets, I’d suggest lockers (they don’t have bins at the station)

@@coaster365 yep, lol I know this is an unpopular take and I was very skeptical, 20 years ago Serial Thriller at Geauga Lake would shake me to death every ride, I also thought La Ronde SLC, while way worse than The Riddle, was tolerable. La Ronde's Boomerrang is now the worst coaster I have been on, beating outing Steaming Demon.

It’s definitely significantly taller than Comet, but once you do a ride like Superman, there isn’t too many coasters you’d be hesitant to ride after that!

If you are afraid of heights, the lift hill seems to take forever. And when you get towards the top you are above everything else and it’s a bit unnerving. But as soon as you start down the first hill the rest of the ride is so fast and so fun you won’t have a second to worry. For those not afraid of heights, the views of the Connecticut River are really beautiful.

First off congrats on the title. You can talk about Maverick again. As far as your top 2 at that park. I was disappointed with Superman mainly because of the restraints. It isn't in my Top 50. I would be interest to see it with different restraints. As far as Wicked Cyclone it cracks my Top 50 but it is 17th of the 22 RMCs I've been on. The pacing on the third lap was not great during my visit. Good ride but I don't see it in the Untamed or Twisted Timbers or even Storm Chase level. As bad as it seems for SFNE, it could be worse. Imagine being stuck in Denver or Phoenix. You have a nice top 2. Overall, I prefer SFNE to say SFOT and without question SFDK. I think SFNE better get something quick because once the merger hits I expect that park may fall down the pecker order a bit.

I read somewhere that a launch coaster at SFNE will never happen, because it’s in a pretty rural area and the existing power grid wouldn’t be able to support it. Maybe a dive coaster? Not super interesting to me but maybe makes sense for the Goliath plot.

I have been going to SFNE for years and I never went on it and I love coasters- it definitely wasn't super popular. Not to mention back in 2016 I witnessed the lift cable on Goliath snap which did not do any favors for making me want to ride it 😳 Heard a huge metal clang and a good bit of chaos before the whole area was cleared out (I was in line for the bumper cars right next to it). It was down for pretty much the rest of the season.

My home park. I know the enthusiasts will disagree, but if they add another coaster it should be a themed family coaster, not a thrill coaster. SFNE has great areas for younger kids, and some nice thrill rides. But is totally lacking in the middle. As you say, a good dark ride and a flume would be great.
