Way back in 1802, John Mollard invented the perfect snack - the battered onion ring. It took the world more than a hundred years to catch up to his vision and feature the side in the New York Times.
Today, Chef Vaatjie adds his own twist to this deliciously golden coated onion, with the help of Every Meal’s Best Friend. If you’re salivating at the thought, wait till you try the recipe.
Ingredients
• 2x onions sliced in round rings
• 20g Cake Flour
• 100g So Good Batter mix
• 200ml Water
• Six Gun Grill for Seasoning
• Oil for frying
Method
• Prepare the batter by mixing Batter Mix with Water
• Dust the onion Rings with flour, an then dip them into the batter mix.
• Deep fry in oil until golden in colour, remove and place on a paper towel.
• Transfer the oil drained onion rings to a dish, sprinkle with Six Gun and serve. Enjoy!
