I didn't believe the 1 star reviews either before tasting. I'll give it another try tonight, but it truly was a flat experience. I'd compare it to tasting a hot sauce that's only about the heat compared to one that has depth and flavors beyond the burn. My hope was that this expression was an M&S bottling of www.ianmacleod.com/brands/six-isles, but now I highly doubt it. Cheers!

I got a 6 Isles blended malt from K&L wine that had a different label (William Maxwell & Co) 43% ncf nc for $20. Mine was quite a bit better than you are describing. Not outstanding but for $20 worthwhile.

I thought this M&S bottling might have been from another blender like www.ianmacleod.com/brands/six-isles. I don't think so now. ;) Cheers!

I bought this a couple of months ago from M&S in york. I was hoping for a cheap but tasty blend, even thought I would find a hidden gem! Nope! It's pretty basic, it has no depth and all you get is a vinegar flavour with smoke. Never mind, I'll move on to the next! By the way, I'm from Arbroath which is about 10 miles from Broughty Ferry! Cheers

My expectations were low, so I wasn't surprised by the flat flavors. I love Scotland and hanging out in all the cool places. Maybe Arbroath is a future stop for us (@findingGinaMarie). Cheers!
