Hello from the U.S.😊 I just found your channel and subscribed after watching your video on confession. I love the way you speak about our faith and your comforting presence. It's too bad that the priests from my area don't seem to have the time to take to talk about spirituality nor offer the reassurance we can all use at times. I look forward to watching your other videos. Even though I had a Catholic education, I feel there's still more to learn🕊

This is one of your best sermons you’ve given so far because this is our first vocation in this exile, personal holiness and Union with God. Trials and suffering are really gifts from God to increase our merit, depending on how we correspond to our crosses and to gain grace for ourselves and others.

Yes! See it all to stand for Jesus!! Maybe this is what’s meant to be for us, His church members to be the examples, the leaders (so to speak). I get so angry when folks mock the Catholic Church to me, question why I remain. My answer is this, because I will never forsake The Mother of God or the sacraments. I’ve never ever felt comfortable in any other church. A testimony I can give: True story, several years ago, I had two patients pass within a few days of each other. Both funeral viewings were at the same funeral home on the same day. One was catholic (he was a dear dear man). The other was Protestant (she was a dear dear woman but suffered so). The viewings were ironically right across the hall from one another. I first went to see Walter, (Catholic). I was filled with so much Love in that room, Walter’s family members were filled with optimism and Love, hope. Walter was in his late 90s when he passed but he was still active, had his wits about him. I felt close to Our Lord in that room. I payed my respects, prayed, spoke to several family members and left to go comfort the family of Margaret. Margaret suffered a stroke at least a decade before her death. She suffered so much and with great pain, slowly losing one function after another in that decade. She had been 100% dependent for over 2 years, not able to communicate other than moan in pain for the last 2 years. I walked into where Margaret’s viewing was and honest to God, I felt cold, sad, like I had just lost that Love and warmth I felt in Walter’s room. There were no Crucifix’s on the walls, not even a cross. The family members, while dear to my heart were so sad and seemed empty at the loss of Margaret. I found myself comforting each of them, telling them that Margaret was no longer trapped in that painful body, she was now in the arms of Jesus. It seemed my words maybe sunk in but provided no comfort. I honestly left the funeral home with such profound thought and feelings noting all the differences that I FELT between each viewing. It was after that I have never looked back or questioned my religion, my faith!
@GodsCottage Жыл бұрын
Many thanks for sharing, but one can experience exactly the same thing at different Catholic funerals - some wakes are filled with faith and with prayers, whereas others prefer no prayer - so sad when that happens

🙏🏻 pray for Fr Altman. He is hurting and angry because he has been stripped of his gift of being a true shepherd to the faithful. This man gave up a very successful career as a family attorney to serve God. My question is who is the Darnell- Fr. Altman or the Bishop who cancelled him. The real reason Fr. Altman was cancelled is that he is a good and faithful priest and would not support the woke and modernist bishops. View his homilies prior to being cancelled and prior to Covid lockdowns. He was a wonderful shepherd. In the US we have a woke and predominately gay hierarchy. In short Church leadership here is in need of prayer. They are cancelling any priest who will not go along to get along. Priests who stand up for Christ’s teaching are being cancelled all over the country. It bothers me that Fr. Altman is having such difficulty dealing with this severe injustice and I pray that the Holy Spirit will help him find an Avenue through which he can again be a shepherd to the flock who is in desperate need of God’s truth and to help him accept his cross.
@GodsCottage Жыл бұрын
Yes, we should pray for him. But based on what I have seen, he was not stripped of his gift of being a true shepherd other than by the evil one and himself working in tandem. That he was 'cancelled' does not surprise me. What surprises me is that he was ever allowed to be ordained.

Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.” This is also a good guide as to whether someone has the Holy Spirit, or not. Now, Father Altman does not appear to display many of the fruits of the Spirit. Any Catholic who has a real concern for the Church and has a desire to correct the Pope (it is, in fact, open to any person, even a lay person, to correct the Pope - St. Catherine of Sienna, for example) should do so with “love, patience, kindness, gentleness and, of course above all, self control”. No true Catholic could condone speaking to the Pope, or of the Pope, otherwise than as guided by the Holy Spirit. St. Catherine of Sienna was persistent in endeavouring to persuade the Pope that he was in the wrong - in the end, because she was, clearly, a holy person, guided by the Holy Spirt, the Pope did see the truth of what she was saying and accepted her guidance and changed his mind. So, the Pope should be open to suggestions, even to suggestions that he should follow a different course of action, but such suggestions should be only given as the Holy Spirit directs and this would not involve anything which is otherwise than in accordance with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. I doubt whether Pope Francis will pay any attention to what Father Altman has to say. It makes little difference whether his criticisms are valid, or not. The Pope would only listen to someone who approached him in a spirit of true Christian charity and I do genuinely consider that he would listen to any suggestions put to him in that spirit that is to say, the Holy Spirit.

Your right Father in stating that an Attorney, a lawyer is a lier, that is what I speak too. Because I do court cases as a welfare worker bringing the judge the clients story! The whole truth of their story they get a chance to show the judge themselves truly, by their truth. The truth will set us free Jesus says. As the police at my court case donot have the truth of what happened as to why my client did or responded as they did! The lawyer will lie to win a case. And I win the case for the unfortunate person, through exposure of the TRUTH. truth wins the judges heart over. The judge wants that truth, that he / she never gets unless you have a welfare worker involved in your case. Praise God our loving Father. My main job therefore is to tease out hidden ugly facts and bring them into light to help a person whom cannot speak it out, due to trauma or confusion. This is the fourth homily/reflection I've heard this weekend on this parable. This is the first that noted the weed was darnell/darnel, so I checked my Bible. NABRE uses "weed" in the text, but observes in a footnote it _is_ darnel, “a *poisonous weed* that in its first stage of growth resembles wheat.” Not just a weed, but a toxic weed. I believe KZbin offered me a video of the priest in question in recent days. I ignored it, as a priest calling Francis an antipope must certainly be in the same league of mental & spiritual health as Dr Marshall. (In fact, I wondered if that priest had a bishop he reported to, and that bishop was "asleep.") Thanks, Fr Thady!

To me the title of the video is a complete turn off. The nomenclature used is loaded and submits to a charismatic and I might add, rather exclusive ideology. There are 7 sacraments, not 8. I got the Holy Spirit at confirmation, end of story. If you want to talk about the fruits of the Holy Spirit do that. If you want to use charismatic terminology, then you are going to have all that nice baggage that goes with it. Due to the title, I am not going to watch the thing, I am just tired of the group identity buzzwords: Spirit-Filled, Raptured, Baptized-in-the-Sprit, Traditional, Charismatic, Liberal, Conservative, rad-trad, this or that. You are either a Catholic or a non-Catholic, and if you are a Catholic the only other thing you can be is a fallen Catholic.
@GodsCottage Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that you find the final instruction given by Jesus before He ascended into heaven such a turn off. He said "not many days from now, you will be baptised in the Holy Spirit". One would think that anyone who is even interested in the Holy Spirit much less seeking the guidance and assistance of the Holy Spirit, would find those words worth reflecting on, and worth checking as to the evidence that they themselves have indeed been baptised in the Holy Spirit.
@mn17771 Жыл бұрын
Actually, you got the Holy Spirit at Baptism. Confirmation completes the grace we receive at baptism, since we receive a “special strength of the Holy Spirit” (CCC 1285). The phrase “Baptism in the Holy Spirit” is used in Charismatic circles, and can be misleading since it is not a sacrement at all. It is a new awareness of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our life in Christ. There is no obligation for any Catholic to undergo this experience. Some say that constant prayer of the heart, is praying/'baptism' in the Holy Spirit. However, I will say that I attended 'Life in the Spirit Seminars' and I would highly recommend it. Everyone I know who attended did experience this 'awakening' of the Holy Spirit within them. There is a good article by Fr. Brenton Cordeiro at CatholicLink called 'Baptism In The Holy Spirit: Why Every Catholic Should Consider Receiving It'. God bless you and may His Peace be with you.

@@mn17771 Yes I am aware of how it all works, they can still stick the non-Catholic terminology and the charismatic exclusivism where the sun don't shine and they can take the rad trads and their exclusivism and whatnot with them along with the oh-so-woke people and female ordination types. I am tired of the inculcation and adoption of these divided ideologies and their nomenclature. You are either Catholic or not, no further descriptor should be pushed, and they do push them.

@@GodsCottage That terminology is a loaded trope pushed by Protestants and charismatics, I am sick of the clubs. The Protestants being so fully baptized in the Holy Spirit that they deny the authority of the Catholic Church and the Blessed Sacrament itself, to say nothing of their attitude toward Mary. As for charismatics, they run around....Oh, too bad that priest is not spirit filled! Like they have a clue. Then there are the Trads, or the Rad Trads, and their condescending crap about "novus ordo" parishes. Then there are the pope is not the pope crowd, the pope is the pope and perfect crowd, and on and on. Every one of these clubs is a self-identified group of do it this way or that. The divisive club language, and it is divisive, needs to stop, don't pretend terms from scripture cannot be loaded. They have surely been used to assign and elicit well understood connotations and the baggage that goes with them, just as each group moniker is loaded. It needs to stop. One is Catholic or not further adjectives are not needed. The division needs to stop.

@@johnjon1823 2 Samuel 6:1-23: [ Moving the Ark of God to Jerusalem ] 5 while David and all the house of Israel danced before the Lord with all their might, with singing, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals. 14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment. 15 So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns. 16 But as the Ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she was filled with contempt for him. 20 When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!” 21 But David retorted to Michal: “I was dancing before the Lord. As the Lord lives, who chose me over your father and all his family! He appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people, Israel, so I celebrate before the Lord. 22 Yes, and I am willing to demean myself even more. I will be lowly in your eyes, but those slave girls you spoke of will indeed think I am distinguished!" 23 So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her entire life. There are different ways of giving worship to God. Michal was disgusted at King David's 'charismatic' way of worship, but God was pleased, and she was punished for her contempt. Just because someone worships in a certain way does not automatically mean they are in schism. The word 'charismatic' refers to a certain type of worship and not to a doctrinally different type of Catholic. Those who call themselves traditionalists, meaning that they prefer the Latin mass are not schismatics, as the Latin mass is perfectly valid in the Church. However, the Radtrads who deny the validity of the Novus Ordo mass or the authority of the Pope are obviously not in communion with the Catholic Church. You are correct, one is either a Catholic or not a Catholic. However, one can still be a Catholic and have a preference for a particular approved form of worship, and it is perfectly acceptable to use the name charismatic or traditionalist to describe that preference. I would agree with you that descriptions such as conservative, liberalism and modernism are nonsensical since Jesus and his Laws are unchanging. I posted a comment on this over a month ago, as I was also concerned with all the labels. Below are some extracts: Hebrews 13:7-9 "Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them". AND: Malachi 3:6-7 “I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty". Jesus does not change with time. He is timeless and outside of time. Therefore his Church/Teachings do not change with time. (See the bible quotes above) So, why do we now, in these times, have all these monikers/labels for different kinds of Church "members" that are all based upon time: RADTRADS ie. as of times past MODERNISTS ie. as of times present PROGRESSIVISTS ie. as of future times Surely there is only: Catholic ie.obedient, and a true and faithful member of the Catholic Church and the Body of Christ OR Non-catholic ie.disobedient and not a member of the Catholic Church, but a protestor, a defacto Protestant

For me a good rule is to remember Our Blessed Mother's words:, THE PRIESTHOOD IS A MASTERPIECE OF CHRIST'S DIVINE LOVE, WISDOM AND POWER. NEVER ATTACK A PRIEST" Once Taylor Marshall began critizing Pope Francis I stopped listening to him..who am I to criticize Pope Francis....best thing I can do is to bring him and anyone who cririzes him.

You, yourself, are believing a falsehood about Mount Melleray, and promoting it. You certainly can't point the finger at anyone else, as a result. You will be held to account by God for it.
