I just installed the same unit. Very happy so far. No rattles, connects as soon as I get in and start the vehicle.

Bought one recently and love it so far. As for heating and glitching issues. I don't think any device is capable of not heating up in direct sunlight. With heat comes throttle and glitching so only way to correct that is to have it in front of an AC vent. I know you would see a world of difference with performance.

I just ordered one about 10 days ago, the brand is OBDPeak. My advice is, if your car has bluetooth and you want to connect the new CarPlay screen to car's head unit wirelessly, make sure you choose the one states that it has "dual bluetooth" feature.

@@diff1980I just got this Lamtto unit this morning and installed it. I have it connected through Bluetooth to my car and everything works as it should. Calls still go through my car's mic and speakers, music goes through the speakers, and I can use all my steering wheel controls with it.

great review. A few questions. My truck is similar to yours being a 2013 frontier. I have tries a few 7" screens and they kind of block my view. This looks good. 1. How is the glare? 2. How is it in direct sunlight? At 7 am my westerly drive to work has me running from the sun. The few I tested I could not see the screen. If I held my Samsung phone up next to it I could see my phone perfectly just not the Android Audio. 3. How is the sticking mount? Here in the midsouth it has been getting hot. When I came out from work it feel when I pushed the screen. Thanks

Update on my selection. I did try this one but after the suction cup constantly popping off I sent it back. It worked great. I did attempt to use the stand that come with it but is too short. I opted for a 9 inch version without the from camera. Got 2 strong magnets. I placed the magnets right above the stereo. Then positioned the 9in carplay/AA so it would rest just above the knows. Looks almost stock and does not stick out like a sore thumb. I ordered a 90° aux and usb c cable tidy it up. I still love the review and your demo on usage. Thank you again

Hi X. I have had some problems. The unit will heat up and glitch out every now and then. With that being said for the price you get a great screen. I don't think anyone can make something that can handle the heat we experience. Cheers and thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.

Try forgetting the screen and re-connect. See if that helps.

I agree. However, it comes with dash mounts. Don't you think it should be able to work as the manufacturer intended it to?

@campshackproductions3725 and that crossed my mind too, it's like a big tablet lol. They say keep out of direct sunlight lol but made it for the window lol. I live in the Caribbean and ordered one, so now I'm wondering how will that work out for me, I think imma put light tint on my windshield. It will have to work or I'm screwed with return.

@@StclairRobertson I have been told that the suction cup does not stick to the window very well. I would recommend using the mounting disk on your dash then the suction cup. FYI. Cheers.

Buy an Android phone, it has always allowed user to adjust maps by gliding your fingers on screen. I was shocked when i saw how Carplay handles maps, couldn't believe something like this a standard in 2024.

Hey, @lisa6056. As he indicates at 1:37, he has connected the unit to his vehicle's auxiliary audio jack. You can also connect it to your vehicle via FM or Bluetooth, if it supports those. Otherwise, it comes with a built-in speaker.

Are you sure?Got one in my hand,I'll go admit ,the sound and the voice of it is great. But I have to say,very poor recording!!!The camera is fixed and can't be adjusted high or low.And it only support 2.5K not 4K!When you use Airplay,You'll get a stuck, blurry viewing effect!
