Mr. Douglas Murray, sir.....I so love you and wish I could meet you! You never waver one iota on Israel's right to exist or defend herself! I'm a gentile....a Christian Zionist is what I call myself....most happily, and I have been loving and defending Jewish people/Israel for 38+ yrs! I so love your scholarship on so many levels...having read an possess a number of your books, but when I knew you loved and defende Israel unapologetically, and for quite abit......my love and admiration for you went to another level! I pray for your health, safety and well being on a regular basis! Many blessings and regards to you, from South Carolina, USA❣️💯

Yes, in it's current form. A similar kind of palestinian terror was directed against Israel before Hamas was founded. Back then it was the PLO and they were not islamist. They were influenced by the idea of national liberation. After all, the whole palestine cause takes on different forms, but remains a tool of pan-arab interest of power against a racial and religious minority.

Thank you Sam. And as far as the aid workers are concerned, as a leader of an NGO myself, no one has pointed a finger at the WCK and asked why they are allowing their workers to be present in the middle of a tightly wound Warzone? Doesn’t leadership of that organization hold some responsibility for their workers? I appreciate their heroic work but to entangle themselves with terrorists seems crazy especially when many truckloads are already shipped in

As a German, born in 1981, i was deeply impressed by the clarity of the comparison between Hamas and the SS and the consequence civillians have to suffer in war for decisions of their leaders. My own Hometown (Frankfurt) was severly destroyed in the war, my maternal grandmother was a refugee from western prussia and suffered their hole life from this experience. But May 8th 1945 was not only day of capitulation of the Wehrmacht it was the day of liberation of the german nation from Hitlers Regime because the German People could not have done this themself. The Palestinian People had to be liberated from Hamas

While I agree for the immediate future that is an impossibility, I still say in the end the well known dual option seems the only fair one..we simply have two different groups here for both of whom this piece of land is where they hail from but for obvious reasons..once again made abundantly clear..there HAS to be a jewish state in this world which is really jewish and will remain predominantly jewish. A state in which jewish identity is never in danger of becoming the persecuted one within its borders.

Israel should adopt one of the two following plans, in my humble opinion: 1. Give Egypt an ultimatum: either Gaza itself and its residents are fully under their sovereignty, or the people of Gaza are fully their responsibility. No third option! 2. Declare full sovereignty over Gaza and make it a full fledged part of Israel, but only after a very long (can be 5-10 years) process of de-Nazification: taking hold of the educational frameworks, the mosques (at least to the extent of preventing the way they are currently spreading anti Israel and anti Jewish propaganda), the entire civilian apparatus, and slowly granting full citizenship to the Gazans that want it, while helping the Gazans who don't want it to emigrate outside of Israel to a place of their choice.

Disagree with 2 because you cannot have a state with that many muslims in it and not lose jewish majority within a very short time...for obvious reasons that is a bad scenario. Disagree with 1 because..who exactly has the right to give another free nation such an ultimatum
@reddragonready
@reddragonready 6 ай бұрын
I think neither is feasible. The first isn't because what and who is supposed to give whom the right to put Egypt any such "ultimatum" and the second because it would lead within a very short time to an Israel in which jews are in the minority
@BenignViewer
@BenignViewer 6 ай бұрын
@@reddragonready I agree with your first objection, but I do not think the second point is evident. The Hassidic (or Haredi) orthdox Jewish population in Israel is growing rapidly and have on average 6.64 children per family (which is higher than that of Israeli arabs and palestinians). I don't think the fear of a Jewish minority in Israel holds much weight, or is born out by the facts on the ground.
@klgamit
@klgamit 6 ай бұрын
@@reddragonready Egypt is at least somewhat responsible for the situation that developed in Gaza: they refused from the start to supply them with almost any humanitarian aid, water, electricity and hardly any workplaces. All that fell on Israel, while on the other hand, Egypt's president inflamed the militant situation by turning a blind eye to weapon smuggling into the Strip that were made through the Sinai. So there is a logical basis to demand Egypt to play a more prominent role in solving this issue.. especially since Egypt is in a supposed peaceful relations with Israel since 1979. With regards to your second point about demographics: that's why I think this process should be done in stages, slowly enough so that it doesn't tip the demographics too much. It doesn't mean that in this transition period Palestinians will be completely without rights, there can be something similar to a green card process as well. At the end of the day, nothing can absolutely guarantee the demographic balance: the important thing to focus on is that citizens are integrated into the "Jewish" state, not in any theocratic sense. But the building of a Jewish society and discussion of what a Jewish nationality means, and how closely it is or isn't related to Judaism as a religion, is one of the many things Israel owes to itself to do and resolve, also because of internal tensions. My opinion is that one can belong to the Jewish nation regardless of his religion, but of course as we know that's not something a lot of Israelis believe in today, unfortunately to my mind.

I write "would" because no one with the intelligence to have that epiphany will be high enough up the journalism ladder for it to make a difference. For better or worse, almost everyone ranking higher than what passes for a local editor comes from advertising and marketing - not journalism. I'm not sure whether I want to be the one remaining to turn off the lights. It will likely depend mostly on how annoying it would be to those ranking higher than local editor. Take care.

Atheists have a way of always pointing blame at religion. NAZI-ism was definitely not a religion. Understand that human beings are religious by nature. So, in the absence of true religion (like Judaism or Christianity), people will emulate religious adherence to something. It may be Marxism, NAZI-ism, Lenon-ism, Maoism, atheism, communism, wokism, criminal enterprise, or pedophilia. All of the aforementioned being equally problematic. Also, all are projects of the atheist free thinking left.

@@liamwinter4512 Watch the Occult History of the third Reich 1991. “This was a belief system of arcane rituals and potent symbols, with the ancient swastika appropriated for the Nazi cause. By the time of the Third Reich, Hitler and the Nazis had evolved an entirely new faith, complete with holy book, venerated relics, and a priestly elite in the form of Himmler's SS. It was a religion based on obedience, power, and the cult of the leader, with Hitler himself conceived in Messianic terms.”

I think Sam’s description is perfect. He described Naziism as a “quasi-religious phenomenon…a racist mysticism anchored to a cult of personality”.
