This is why Pain is my favourite villain in the entirety of Naruto. Even after receiving numerous pulverzing blows from Naruto in his demon fox mode, he accepts that his adversary's anger is justified, and the only reason he stands opposed to him is because his pain (of losing his parents, his friends and entire childhood) is much greater. You have to respect the sincerity of his words.

After that they probably thought it’s too much power so they didn’t use the rinnegan full abilities anymore. Madara was spamming limbo and sauske spamming substitution jutsu.
