I think they may have taken the opportunity of not having shows for a long time to match the changes to costuming, orchestrations, and lighting that were made in the previews for the Broadway cast. Broadway is well... Broadway so they amped up a lot of the aspects before the shutdown

@@11TaMaR11 it's because the Union considers it part of the show, and because of that technically Broadway megasixes are illegal bootlegs. It's a rule that wasn't enforced at all though because a lot of people didn't know the megasixes are considered bootlegs and record them anyways, plus the actresses would swoop down to look in phone cameras while performing the megasix so they obviously didn't care that it wasn't allowed lmao.

Hopefully they'll be able to convince the Union to let people film them if the show officially opens, since Six Broadway had the awful awful timing of their opening day being the same day Broadway shut down. All the megasixes and the bootlegs are from the one or two preview shows they were able to have before the shut down.

Theatres in London started reopening for shows that had small / distanced casts back in late August, then planned to open more West End shows in November but a national lockdown meant they had to push those dates back to December. Audiences are around 50% capacity so they can distance from each other and there are many safety measures in place.

The only reason Alternate Costumes don’t exist on Broadway is because Broadway restrictions with swings and alternatives. Not six’s choice. The cruise cast that doesn’t have Alt costumes was most likely a choice though

Theatres are open, but everyone is social distancing in the audience so bubbles are sat two meters apart. London is currently in what is known as tier 2, so you can go out to restaurants with people in your household (or bubble) and socially distanced outdoor events with 6 people. The cast is likely in a bubble together, which means that they are probably living alone- at least for now- or with one another to be able to be stood that close to one another. They are also likely getting regular testing, like uni students are currently.

I think the new costumes give more character to the queens tbh. Aragon is pure royalty with a consistent design like how she was a very regal and consistent queen. Boleyn still has the bounce and is still fun, but a little more held together as she did do some important things as queen. Seymour is pretty reserved and not much is known about her, but the peplum signifies the unknown and more complex side of her thoughts and feelings. (Seymour isn’t shown here as Hana is alternate) Cleves was treated as royalty even after the divorce and the tear away is honestly just her showing off her money hahaha. Howard has had this design from the AUS Cast and tbh I think I really helps her character. Now Howard has a design pattern that is consistent in her design, and the costume isn’t as flimsy as it used to be. It is still revealed and the hot pink though which connects to her life for obvious reasons. Parr’s peplum is sooo important if we’re being honest. 1. It does the same thing for Seymour where Parr is quiet most of the show, but has this completely different story than we thought she did and is more complex than the queens thought. 2. The costume honestly looks finished for the the 1st time ever. 3. Although Parr is already the one in pants for an Bobbi reason, the peplum brings the Tudor style back into her design. It also reminds us she was a woman in Tudor times but because the peplum is small, it doesn’t hold back her more badass side. Idek this is just how I think if the costumes.
