I used to be a coin collector and I still am. I figured even if they kept the silver price down that silver and gold coins would keep going up, and I was right, because of rarity gold and silver coins can be worth much more than bullion.

I had the same realization and I just swapped out some 1 oz bars for like 18 bucks in constitutional today! The constitutional is much more rare and that's what ppl are looking for when shtf silver hunts happen...I've had ppl offer me 10+ a price for dimes....wild. so I've finished my dime rolls and I'm 75% filled on my forst quarter roll so now I'm going to start half dollar rolls

I sold the 16d good condition many years ago. The 1921p and d were very high on my list. Got a xf 31s in a junk purchase about 2 years ago. Good job and video.

Agree its well worth looking. I have a little bag of key days I stuck away. You should expand on this and do one on all 90% key dates. 👍

I don't know about Key Dates, but I did find what I believe to be a 1940 Proof Mercury Dime in with my canvas bag of 500 coins I recently purchased from an online bullion/coin dealer. That coin could be worth MILLIONS of dollars as Proof coins were only minted in the years 1936 through 1942. The 1940 has a total mintage of 11,827. Who knows how many have actually survived the various meltdowns over the decades?

I'm surprised you didn't mention 1921 dates. 1921's are worth more than all of those other ones except for the 1916-D and 1941/2. And that goes for 1921's from all mints, since the mintage that year was very low. P.S. I used to stack Mercury dimes and transitioned to collecting them. When I'd buy a bulk quantity of Mercury dimes, 90% of the dates were from the 40's, and those from the 30's, and especially 20's and teens would be extremely worn. Unless you're buying thousands of Mercury dimes, or get them from estate sales, the chances of coming across a key date are very slim. And those key dates that you have a small but realistic chance of finding might be worth $20-$40. Finding a key date that's going to sell even for over $100 is like winning the lottery, let alone finding one that will sell for thousands.

I understand what u r saying. Before I was a stacker I was a collector. When I made the switch I sold my collection and stacked as much bullion as I could. I see the world getting much worse than it is now. In that environment I don’t see collections being that sought after. Just my opinion of course.

I always separate my dates into tubes on junk silver. Mint mark I haven’t payed that much attention to though.

I just assume that the best stuff is all ready picked out and try to get all the dates regardless of condition or value in that regard.

I ordered 50 of em off eBay best bang for your buck, cheaper than buying 90% silver quarters, Morgan dollars, etc... Plus I only buy 1 Morgan dollar, 2 liberty quarters, 2 liberty half dollars, and 20 to 50 mercury dimes, but I try to buy more bars straight from Scottsdale mint and my local coin shop. I get my 1oz bars from the coin shop, and my 3.5 oz, 5oz, 10oz bars from Scottsdale mint i order directly from the company, instead paying more from SD bullion, or jm bullion

I conservatively grade my Mercury Dimes as Good to V-Fine I dont expect key dates to have a high grade. Remember grading is subjective. Smart Silver Stacker these high grades with high prices are from companies not from individuals.
