Congrats Jesse , You and another KZbinr (Errol from TWUR) were mentioned on a New Zealand Radio station MAI FM's website home page for your reactions to Stan Walker & Six60. Just like our L&P soft drink, you are now World Famous in New Zealand.

@@Beldvlmnt You're both welcome anytime. Many visitors have said NZ is like a smaller version of Canada (without the extreme cold and predators), Your Home away from Home. L.A.B are doing a one off concert at Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA on 14th May.

This make me proud to be from New Zealand. When the haka drops, it unites a whole country.

What you are seeing in the performers is called mana, and it is something Maori, and Pacific island peoples carry when they "perform". Before colonization, pacific islanders told their stories through song and dance, or Tatau (tattoos). Mana is not easily translated with one word, but with many. A sense of pride, power and respect for ancestors and self, respect for a higher being, prestige. It could describe a spiritual life force flowing and expressed through (a person). Hope that made sense lol, I tried my best to describe it and hope I dont offend any fellow poly(s).

Your reactions are so good man; six60 held the torch for a while now. Lab are kinda taking over now but six60 will probably go down as 1 of our greatest ever bands.

If there’s one concert you NEED to experience in your lifetime it is a Six60 gig. They are such a proud NZ band and it makes our hearts swell with pride when they perform specifically this waiata. To experience this song in Waitangi where our culture is so recognised, is nothing short of stunning!

This video is a compliation of a series of concerts Six60 did in New Zealand whilst the world was in lockdown but New Zealand was basically free of covid,at the time these were the only concerts happening in the world.

Absolutely love Six60. Everyone says so much about the lead singer( Matiu) and how his voice is so powerful which it is! But also the other members( Ji on lead guitar, Eli on drums, Chris on bass and Marlon on keys/guitar) is also what makes Six60, those guys perform as one, they not only the best of mates they form a brotherhood like no other. Don’t forget your roots is one of Six60s biggest songs( has nearly 35 million streams on spotify and coming from little old New Zealand and even smaller town called Dunedin.. That is huge!

Thank you so much for choosing one of the best concert videos ever to highlight our Aotearoa New Zealand music and culture. I hope you've found many more since 🙏 If you're in awe of the cultural performance, search for "te matatini" or "kapahaka" and you'll be blown away. This is our culture, which is why he's singing about "don't forgot your roots", there's a double meaning to that, because he's talking about not forgetting our culture too. Arohanui from Aotearoa 💚🇳🇿🖤

9:39 I love how you said that! Because we have something called a haka. It's our war dance that our ancestors used to scare people from coming on to our island. And that's what the stage dancers are doing. We use all of our feelings/emotions/power/spirit into that dance because thats how its suppose to be performed.

love watching people react to my culture, had me laughing ,(in a good way, thanks for props for tiring ) when you tried to say the Maori word for family, it was cool how they put it brackets right next to it. this song was huge when it came out they always try to put Maori in their songs. Should react to Stan Walker I am if you haven't already.
