How Strong is Dr. Eggman?

In this video I go over how Strong Eggman is in the different Mechs he makes throughout the franchise. He's got some crazy existence feats, probably going higher into 5D as a consistent piece of scaling throughout the entire games verse. I don't go out of my way to go over the movies this is strictly game canon and since he doesn't have many physical feats it's obviously just the machines he's built.

Eggman's speed would actually be a cutscene thing, locking Sonic at a set distance from Eggman in an auto running section. So no, that cannot be written off as a gameplay mechanic. Also Eggman has comparable durability feats to Sonic given how many times he's survived the destruction of these mechs in these voids beyond time and space.

Lets remember that while Eggman being as fast as Sonic cant be counted, his physical threat still is considerable. He is a Power-Type meaning his strength is somewhere between Big the Cat to stuff like Knuckles, Vector and Omega. And let's not forget IDW is 100% canon to the games so anything done there is canon

Loving the video dude, but hope you don't mind a little bit of devil's advocacy on behalf of Eggman's speed and the early Sonic games. I first want to point to Sonic CD, where upon his escape from little planet in one of the endings; Sonic sees Eggman fleeing in just his eggmobile and throws a rock at super speed blowing him out of the sky with a death cloud to boot! If that isn't Sonic trying to kill him, I'm not quite sure what else would count. I then want to address Sonic 2 where this scene takes place is more of an interactive cutscene. Outside Eggman's own animations during boss fights, the Tornado speeding into view and the ending pixel art, Sonic games up until that point didn't have much in-game machinima. So allowing the player to control sonic as per usual, but keeping him away from eggman seems more like a writing choice rather than a gameplay one. If true, then in that instance I would say it's implied in the canon at that point Eggman could outsprint Sonic in certain situations. This topic was heavily talked about back in the adventure/dreamcast era whenever you gained access to Eggman in the Chao Gardens and he proved to have as high of a movement speed as any of the other characters. Granted this does seem like a purely gameplay centered decision, but why? How would Eggy moving a bit slower hurt user experience in such a small space? Again, I'm kind of led to believe there is a story reason for it. Final piece of conjecture comes from Shadow the Hedgehog. During the Ark mission, you gain control of Maria Robotnik. Funnily enough, her movement speed is just as high as Eggman's in SA2. Again, we gotta ask ourselves: "Why is that?". If you ask me, I think Canonically (at least in the old canon) Eggman along with most other humans are meant to be fast. Faster than Sonic? No. But probably about as fast as Amy if not just a bit slower. Add in one exhausted Sonic after a tough boss fight and Ol Eggy could probably beat him in a short sprint.

The power of the Stars is not in fact stronger than The Chaos Emeralds. It is just better at taking RAW power from. every time you see Eggman using the Emeralds it in a machine, something that can use Emotion, magic or thoughts. Eggman stating the Power of the Stars or Phantom Ruby is stronger than the Chaos Emeralds or Master Emerald is false. They are simply stronger than the readings Eggman gets from the RAW power of Chaos, not the TRUE power of Chaos. Shadow scales no where near Sonic. He has tons of anti feats, and sometimes even loses to a nerfed Sonic. It’s also just blatantly stated Shadow is way slower than Sonic.
