Love your videos! FYI: I learned this tip when freezing bread and it has been a game changer. Place a paper towel in the bag with the bread, buns, etc. and when you thaw it, keep the paper towel in with it as it thaws. No more hard, stale or soggy bread.😊

So many great tips! It always surprises me that people don’t know about freezing dairy. Cream cheese doesn’t look the best, but is great in recipes. Or, if you do want to serve it with bagels, etc, you can let it defrost and soften, then whip it with an electric mixer. You can even turn it from 🥺 to 😍 by making “fancy” flavored whipped cream cheese. Add finely minced green onion and chives, honey and chopped walnuts, strawberry jam or chopped strawberries, or cinnamon with maple syrup. The possibilities are endless.

@@Chgomom Yes! I buy big bags of shredded cheese and break them down into manageable 1 lb bags and freeze. Same with sliced cheese. I also have a grocery store nearby that puts their brand of shredded cheese (the usual 8 oz size) on sale for Buy 2, Get 3 Free periodically and it’s great cheese - I actually prefer it to some of the major brands - and I just put those straight into the freezer.

This was one of the most useful videos I've seen in my quest for how to stock my freezer. My plan for today was to research if I can freeze things like cooked rice, fresh spinach, cream cheese, and sour cream and then BOOM! you had it all in one video! I've precooked my chicken and ground beef in the past and this was so helpful on those nights when I needed a fast meal so we could get out the door for whatever sports activities the kids had. And just like you, I would put them in the bags so they were flat. Not only do the bags take up less room but they thaw much faster. Thanks so much for all the helpful videos you do! If you go out for Chinese (or Thai, etc), always ask for your rice to be boxed up separately and take it home. If you don’t use it to make quick fried rice or to add to burritos, etc, you can put it in a bag and into the freezer. I’ve even saved the leftover rice from a few Chinese dinners, just adding to the bag in the freezer (dated with the oldest rice) until I have enough to make something else or serve with a stir fry.

About how long does it take when fast freezing?
@Amanda-kw1vi2 жыл бұрын
Depends on your freezer. You don't have to make sure it's frozen through, just enough to keep it together, maybe an hour or two. I never have room in my freezer so I just throw it in a bag or container and hope for the best
@SixSistersStuff2 жыл бұрын
It takes about 1-2 hours.

I have a question. I freeze my cheese too but when it’s time to defrost the slices become crumbly and I can’t really use the slice, I end up crumbling the cheese. Do you have any tips on how to keep it sliced when you thaw it out?

I just bought a 5 lb "roll" of ground beef, but it is not frozen. How much time? I want to put some precooked meat in my freezer.

How would you cook ground beef with seasonings?
@SixSistersStuff2 жыл бұрын
Just add your seasonings as you are browning your hamburger.

I usually have about 40 lbs of butter in the freezer at all times but since moving, I've let my stash run out.😭Now with prices going through the roof, I could kick myself for not keeping up my stock when there were sales for $1.99/lb! I live in Wisconsin and my 40+lbs had lasted me for 3 years for me and my husband.(empty nesters). Now I am scrambling to buy at $2.49/lb to get my stock back up in the deep freezer! I cant imagine what prices are elsewhere when in the "Dairy State", they are going through the roof! #LGB #FJB
