As someone who is still new to the acoustic guitar, I will be playing this in Gordon's honor. May he rest in peace.

I just practiced this for two hours. For a beginner such as myself, it's a great lesson to get used to fingerpicking. The chords are simple, so I can focus mainly on my picking hand. I'm still having trouble matching it with the singing, but hey, I just started. Great lesson, thanks a bunch!

I’ve played for years, but am just getting into finger picking. As a Canadian kid in the 70s, I grew up listening to Gordon Lightfoot. I’ve always loved this song, but felt it was beyond my capabilities for years. But this is a fantastic breakdown. Thumbs up, and subscribed.

Excellent playing, excellent presentation. And the bonus, finally someone who plays without nails, realizing you can get volume and, more importantly, tone without nails or picks. Inspiring channel. Liked and subscribed. Thanks from So.Oregon USA

Nicely done. It's great to see someone like myself who uses the flesh of the thumb and fingers instead of nails or fingerpicks. Looking forward to checking out more of your offerings. Cheers.

Find your tuition very helpful, I am committed to mastering fingerstyle guitar. I always find play throughs with vocals good for me, is that possible?
@jmgalbo1 Жыл бұрын
It would make the overall presentation of guitar lessons so much better on KZbin if the instruction began by playing through what will actually be taught in that lesson. Some "instructors" (you aren't one of them) execute songs incorrectly. Most of us don’t want interpretations or versions, we want the actual chords, style, and feel of the original composition. You have a good teaching technique - I’m subscribed - Thank you.

Love your lessons! Could you do "Here, there and everywhere" by the Beatles please?
@thegloobster2 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough, he already has lol! You should be able to find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5mVp3prgLegmtk Though, I gotta warn you, it's not an easy rendition at all! I suck at those artificial harmonics! They just go so fast and ring so nicely, it's a challenge! Hope you can get though it and play it though, it's an awesome rendition, and there is one bit with less harmonics that sounds friggin' dope my brother man, so yeh, look into that or look at Josh Turner's tutorial or Shutup and Play's tutorial, they really all have different flavors, my favorite being Josh's, but basically this song has been covered a lot, choose the one you like the most because they're all quite different! But yeh, hope this helped man lol, cheers!

Good demo! Why not use your first finger instead of your thumb on the sixth sting F (6 minute mark in the video). Using the thumb looks rather inelegant.
