Great lesson. I’m glad you broke down what the picking hand is doing and not just showing the chords

You know, this riff has a little more chill vibe to it when you play it with a little less attack vs. the recording...I like it!

Great tutorial, I have the chords down, thanks for also showing what your right hand is doing, most others don't explain it as well as you did. Thank you.

Thank you very much! I'm learning the song now and it is slowly beginning to work. I learned Landslide and Jolene from you the last two weeks and that worked great (on my level). Watching a YT video is nice but learning to play a song yourself from a YT video is just great. In addition with all the videos at different levels it is easy to find a great song that is not too easy and that can be learned in a few weeks to a level that is fun.

Do you pluck with your fingernails or with your flesh? My fingers hurt a lot if i pluck with my fingers but i’m not sure if i should grow out my nails or keep them short and develop the calluses.
@SixStringFingerpicking4 жыл бұрын
I use mainly my flesh, sometimes I grow my nails a bit to add some brightness but mine are so thin they always break in no time. Your flesh toughens up over time, I can play all day with no pain at all.

Great video, amazing song, I'd love to learn to play and sing it, but it is devilishly difficult, so i 'd rather not try. I think it would be a very long and nearly fruitless effort for me (sobs )

I was lucky enough to live near Solsbury Hill for a year. A fabulous walk and I can confirm a great view across Bath's 'city lights'. Also not far from Peter Gabriel's Real World studio...

Ummm, six string fingerpicking ? This song was recorded on 12 string, doesn't sound right especially on classical guitar
