Siegel is not among the top scientists in his academic field but he managed to make it to the top of hedge fund. Kind of shows what society values if nothing else. And now he is an authority on AI?

Maybe different professions require different skillsets! Most academics, including the "top scientists", are effectively useless outside of their extremely narrow specializations.
