Great reaction. This was their very first song, originally recorded at the end of October 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Doki doki is onomatopoeic for a fast or excited heart beat and the song is about waking up late and having to rush to get ready for an exciting day at school - and it follows all the usual death and doom metal tropes of what lip gloss to wear, getting your hair straight and so on - and in between asking "Imananji" (what time is it?) lol. This was the first song of the night (they played there the previous night (Red Night)) The prologue (translation by Du-Metal): "Doomsday. The sound of the bell that tells the end of the Metal Resistance resounds from the giant magic circle. It is the time of fate... The spirit of the Metal which burns in the jet-black darkness becomes the crimson flame and burns down everything. The time left... is little..." The Budokan is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics - and now also a hugely prestigious venue for concerts - it is the place Japanese artists aspire to play and very few ever get the chance. BABYMETAL became the youngest average age female band to headline there - Su was just 16, Yui and Moa still 14 ... and they sold it out 2 nights running as they released their first album - it was the beginning of March 2014. Earlier this year they played 10 dates at the Budokan as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. The 2014 shows were also the shows where the Kami Band finally became their full time support for all live shows (they had previously played a couple of festivals and the encores in a few shows after their first appearance at Legend I in October 2012). They have been with them ever since.

I was a bit worried that you might not like this one, as the chorus is poppy as hell. But you might have caught the virus. "I shouldn't like this, but it's so good" is what many of us started like. If you just listen to your heart and don't let your preconceptions get in the way, it's really hard not to love BABYMETAL.

Every time I watch them perform this song, I wait to see them sleep and wake up on stage. After watching other people's cover, I realized that Su-metal imitated the sound of an alarm clock at the beginning is really amazing.

Babymetal started as a sub-unit of a teen idol group called Sakura Gakuin and Doki Doki Morning was their first song released on the Sakura Gakuin 2010 Nendo CD when Moa and Yui were 11 and Su was 12. A couple of other songs off that CD were initially promoted and had videos, but Doki Doki Morning got some traction and after a year their agency, Amuse, made some money available for a video. This then became popular online and eventually Babymetal was spun off as an independent act...so Doki Doki Morning is a big part of BM's origin strory. Doki Doki Morning is a sentimental favorite with many fans, but doesn't get played much anymore because the girls have grown up and it's a really "young" song. FYI "doki doki" is a Japanese onomatopoeia phrase used to describe the excitement of a beating heart and the song is about getting ready for school and doing new things as a teen girls and also has a couple of lines that puncture the trope of silly schoolgirls not knowing things, which is a bit of girl power.

Love how fast you return to BABYMETAL. 🤘🦊🤘. These girls are absolutely addicting. They just make you feel happy and rock out. I have never been so entertained and amazed by a band before. This is one of their more cutesy songs and I am here for it. I'm 46, play hockey, kickbox, love loud drums, yet these girls make me emotional lol. It is awesome you would go see these girls with your grand daughter. Too bad there isn't more human like these 3 girls. The world would be a better place. Keep going!

Don't worry about upsetting people there will always be a few complainers no matter what... BabyMetal is very theatrical and tell stories and stuff during the concerts, which is why 90% of your reactions should be for live stuff. This is their very first song, they recorded it when they were like 11 years old. The producer doesn't hold back on giving you a good show. He even hired the best sound guy in the world to setup their initial sound system, he doesn't go cheap when it comes to quality and every aspect of everything they do will be the best they can possible do. Notice there are rails around the stage, they were not there the night before and one girl fell off stage, he had the whole crew working all night putting up rails to keep the girls safe.

You got the rocking pneumonia and the Babymetal flu. And it's permanent! There's a video of this song that you might enjoy. It's pretty good. Live Babymetal is always the best choice but all of their official videos are pretty darn good and worth a watch. There's also some really early video of them recording this song. Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。BABYMETAL is singing about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly what time it was now. As Grington300 300 explained "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. And the girl also got excited looking forward to what was going to happen today at her school and in her future as well. Now in 2021, Su and Moa are matured and no longer school girls, but they performed this song again in shows at Budokan mimicking their childish voices. Every audience at the venue became happy. Not everyone cares about the backstory, although I find it fascinating. But, given that this was their first song, might be worth the few minutes time to find and watch either the first performance or the slightly later official MV just to see how truly smol they were when starting in Babymetal.

Doki Doki morning at the Budokan is a rare thing. It ss very good. The intro part, Doomsday, 召喚、「紅の炎がすべてを焼き尽くし、漆黒の闇にこの地が包まれる夜、ついに運命の時が訪れる。メタルレジスタンスの終焉に向けて、、。新たなステージへと旅立つ日の朝、小さな鈴の音が大きな鐘の音と変わっていくように、巨大魔法陣の元へとBABYMETALは召喚されるのだ。キツネ様は言った、『終わりがあるから、始まりがあるのだ』と。そしてメタルレジスタンスの終焉を告げ、新たな伝説の幕開けを告げる鐘の音が、巨大魔法陣より鳴り響くのである。その昔、キツネ様の母であるゴッドマザーは言った、、『あの銅鑼を鳴らすのはあなた』」 The first "召喚 (summons)" is a parody of Evangelion. And last part, " the Godmother who is the mother of the Fox God said "It is you who shall ring that gong". is.., I guess it is a parody of "和田アキ子 (Wada Akiko), the Japanese singer known as God-sister who sang the hit song "あの鐘を鳴らすのはあなた (Ano Kane wo Narasu wa Anata)". Btw, I am not sure about this backscene of you, Shinjuku?

please review Shiina Ringo, and her band Tokyo Jihen! she is the most influential j-pop musican since the 90s and has influenced much of the music of japanese subcultures especially music born on the internet after 2010 . at the olympic games, she directed the "rio to tokyo" in 2016 and was planned to direct the tokyo2020 opening celemony canceled by the infectious. i recommend "Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri", "NIPPON", "Awakening", "The Narrow Way", "Kamisama, Hotokesama". she makes various genres of music, so i'd be happy if you could listen to some of them.

Don't get me wrong - I think your reaction videos to Babymetal are terrific (I get a kick out of watching someone else go "WTF?!" like I did!), but in regards to making suggestions, it seems to me that your making things a lot more complicated than they need to be. In the first place, it would have to one strange individual to pop onto one of your videos, post a suggestion, then bail never to be seen again. I'm fairly sure that, when people post a suggestion, they want to see how you react to the video. Perhaps maintain a tally of titles most suggested? Perhaps include a sort of "promo code" during the course of your video that a suggester needs to include with their comment/suggestion? Anyway, you do as you do! 😊 Having said that, it good to see that you liked "Doki Doki Morning" but your reaction to the music video of this song first would have been epic!
