I run 18x9.5 +38 wheels with 255/40-18 front and 295/35-18 rear RE-71RS on stock suspension... Perfect no problem ! Amazing on the road race track... The handling is sick !!!

For the beginners looking for some advice, not all stated tire widths are equal. Many summer tires will run wider than others in the same stated width. For example the actual contact width of a 255 R888 will run wider than most 265 all season tires. You can dig a bit deeper and get truer width information from sites like Tire Rack when you drop down the technical specifications of the products.

Great info on wheels here. I would be very grateful if you could give me some information on 2022 sedan wheels onto a 2022 wagon? I was just wondering why my 2022 WRX Ts wagon and most others Have as OE 18x 7.5 rims running 225/45 R18 tyres but the WRX Ts sedan has as OE 18 x 8.5 rims running 245/40 R18 tyres? What is the thinking behind this? I do like the look of the sedan wheels and their width better. Can this size rim and tyre of the TS sedan be run on my wagon? Offset etc hopefully not an issue as well as tyre pressure monitoring. I can get hold of OE sedan rims pretty cheap and am thinking of having them powder coated gold to be sort of OE but a bit different. Cheers.

So unless I misinterpreted something you can run the 18/9.5 +22 w/ a 245 40 18 without having to cut the body; or did you just cut into the body because you tried to run the 265 40/35 18 and couldnt even after cutting it and had to run the 245 on it? IF that is the case could you run that 245 without cutting the metal portion of the body? I dont mind cutting the plastic but the cutting the actual body is a hard pass.

Thanks for this video. I was thinking about going 18x9.5 +35. Matching to either 245/40 or 255/40. I saw you mentioned the 18x9.5 on +35 but your example was lowered and rubbing. My setup will remain unlowered and want the widest stance i can get with spacers without rub. and I am trying to figure out if both of these setups will clear without rubs and if so, what would be the recommended option of the 2? thoughts?

225 tire is a bit too stretched on a 9.5. I wouldn't sacrifice that kind of safety in my opinion. But to answer your question you can do a 225 on a 9.5+22 with a 1" drop is okay. Any more you'll need to shave!

if you are just running springs you probs wont be able to run that set up because if im not mistaken you have to run some camber on the front and you may need to run more camber on the back then what the springs will naturally cause with a that type of drop.

@LooseWRX Just installed fortune autos and have AFD S-type fender flares on order. Looks like the rear has miles of space on the inside, but very limited outside. Think only chance to get a 10" is with a +45 wheel, but need 9mm of wheel closer to the shock than stock wheels... Going to look real damn close when car goes on the lift for the alignment!
