The bottom plate that you can get loose is there to separate the tripod from the scope itself. Otherwise the tripod can scratch the scope. You can put it in between them.

Hey Stacie - always appreciate your watching and participating. It definitely has its limitations but I'd have to be honest and say I don't know what else compares at that price point. Something might, tho. Funny thing - I lost 5 subscribers immediately upon posting and the manufacturer sent an email with their displeasure at my review. Fun.

Hi there, I just opened one, after receiving it today from my father, and I have to say that on two points, i found the opposite to be true. The eye piece just needs to be screwed clockwise to lock on, and the steering handle pivots the scope both left/right AND up/down. So maybe the 2nd issue was down to the handle being mis used, and bent prior to the assessment of it. Not sure.. A little odd, but I still admire this mans attention to possible bias. He's genuine. (PS. and in the other review I just saw, the eye rim is folded back with ease)
@PeaceLoveAndGuns
@PeaceLoveAndGuns 2 жыл бұрын
The bending of the handle was definitely my fault... it was just really easy to do. As for the eye piece locking on, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Mine doesn't have any such feature. Thanks for the comment and do please consider subscribing!

I’ve never tried it, but I don’t see why not. You would certainly need good tripod!
@Dogappel
@Dogappel Жыл бұрын
I tried it, you can clearly look at the moon for example. You can really see the craters. And if your look really really good, you can see the moon slowly moving to the side if you wait long enough. If you want to use it for looking at planets only, it’s not the best option. But it still works okay.
@PeaceLoveAndGuns

I agree, planets and stars will still just be dots. The moon would probably look great through this.

Thanks! Oh and BTW an "apparition" is like a ghost. An "aberration" is like an oddity or irregularity. Just saying. Doesn't detract from a great video. Thanks again.
@PeaceLoveAndGuns
@PeaceLoveAndGuns 8 ай бұрын
Hey douggief1367, I'll say up front that, while you're still technically right that I wasn't using a truly relevant/correct definition of the work "aberration," I definitely wasn't confusing the word "apparition" for it. Haha, I admit I was going off of the Dungeons and Dragons monster-type "Aberration," which are still not ghosts but are alien, otherworldly being sort of like H.P. Lovecraft's cosmic horror monstsers like, the great old ones, and Cthulu and the like. Still wrong, but I wasn't confusing the word. The direct etymology of the word as to how it got incorporated into D&D doesn't seem to be documented, but etymology of the word as a whole and its various definitions (outside of optical science ones) all share elements of something irregular, or coming from the outside, or outside of moral norms, etc - so I think that's where they got it from. My mind just connected ghosts to being outside the norms or reality/laws of physics, so that's how I related it. Etymology and Dungeons and Dragons are fun. I'm glad you got something out of the video! I appreciate your comment and do hope you'll subscribe for more.

Honestly you should maybe try something with Alittle less magnification. I picked up mine for shooting pistols from 7-25 yards all the way to shooting my AR to 300 yards and I had a hell of a time finding and keeping anything UNDER 50 yards because it was zoomed in way too far. It was perfect at the 75 to 150 yard range

Wow, that's one random arsed question. I'd suggest googling the original weapon you are actually trying to replicate the finish on, I believe it was likely "blued", possibly the darker "black" ones you have seen were parkerised? Painting sounds like something that was done after manufacture as a hack, when other coating techniques were not available.

too into the weeds on the math? It's easy, use calipers to measure the diameter of the objective lens, then measure the circle of light you get on that piece of paper. Divide one into the other and you get your magnification.

Okay, okay. To be fair, I DID NOT mean "apparition." I meant "aberration" in the sense that *sigh* us nerds us it in D&D and horror. An aberration is kind of a ghost and it does etymologically come from the scientific/optical use and its root word "aberrant." The optic causing the aberrant, scattering/non-convergence of the light in effect makes halos, fringe or, in a sense, ghosting of parts of, specific colors, or edges of the image.
