A few years ago the makers of the Addi asked if we would be interested in an Addi sock machine. I definitely said yes. Instead, we get the AddiEgg. I have an I-cord maker (Embellishment Kit), which was sold by the then makers of the Bond Knitting Machine/USM. It is a cute little tool for making I-cord. I wonder if Skacel is still considering making a sock machine? I currently own both the King size & Professional Addi machines.

It would be nice if these were available for Australians but for some reason, they're impossible to get and I need one for my project (the regular ones are too small) the way it's going, I'm just tempted to find someone to 3D print the parts for me to assemble one myself.

Could someone be kind and let me know how much the egg weight weighs? I have lost mine, and trying to calculate its weight by subtracting the machine's weight from the 0.2kg shown as the total weight online leaves less than 50g for the weight. I made a subsitute but its not heavy enough to do the same job as the gold egg one... Help please!

The thread keeps bunching up in front of the hooks in mine, and then it jams. The booklet that comes with it has some very meager instructions and no troubleshooting section

we're trying but ours never descends the knit part it stays until it jams whether we put only egg weight tension, more tension or less tension doesn't seem to matter - defective?

I had the exact same issue..Tried 8 times it would not pass the yarn over it self and snarled the 6th needle every time. They have not worked out the kinks yet .. this item has a high rate of defective units...Production Quality control is asleep at the helm, on this one the angle of the needles is at wrong angles as it stabs through the yarn snarling the yarn around the needle ...if they had paid attention to details the white hooks are supposed to come down on the out side of the yarn not through the middle of the yarn ply...I am trying to get a replacement from my seller on E-bay and she is not very willing to send another replacement. On try number 9 the needle busted and I left the yarn on it so they could get a better look of a non functioning POS they had sent.

@@JRSTARKnitwear I had the same experience, bought mine from the woolery, first one jammed, when they sent me the 2nd unit, this unit came in with broken hooks, don't buy from the woolery..

Die Idee ist super. Endlich kann ich die dickeren Kordeln selbst machen. Leider ist das "Gewicht" zu leicht. Ein schönes Maschenbild konnte ich erst erreichen nachdem ich das Gewicht verstärkt habe. Leider fällt die Kurbel zu leicht ab. Bestehen da noch Möglichkeiten das Produkt etwas zu verbessern? I recommend against any non- professional from buying this device. It is simply too finicky and easy to break a needle. How many needles are necessary to understand the delicateness of this device? I broke a needle, there are no replacements, and I can't get the yarn out of the device.

This is embarrassing. I am an avid knitter. I saw this on Amazon and had no idea what it was and had to check out on KZbin. In the time it takes to set up and work, I can knit the same thing. OMG. Is this lazy or what?
