About the friendship vs relationship thing, I feel like OG SKAM started on a really good note with that but kind of fell into the same romanticization of love stories you find in every teen show. Don't get me wrong, I love the relationships in OG and the friendships were still just as important to the development of the characters in the later seasons, but I'd just like an original season where the protagonist doesn't fall in love for once. It could show kids that it's perfectly valid to not be in a relationship and still be fine, that you can just as well lean on your friends and try to figure things out for yourself if you haven't found your Jonas/W*illiam/Even/Yousef/Magnus yet, just like Eva had to do in her season. You don't need a significant other to be complete, especially not at the age of 16. I feel like s5 of fr - even though I do get that it's part of the "leave toxic people out of your life" arc - was really dragged down by the love triangle. Arthur did not have to be with anyone for that season to work, and Alexia did not need to suddenly get put with Arthur in s4 only to end up getting hurt multiple times by the end of s5. I'm sorry your original idea for this video fell through btw, but this one is still great. We stan a messy queen

People were talking about this so much at the time, that after 4 original Skam seasons and all the remakes, it would've been nice that Arthur plotline would be just focused on him, the dissability, the relation with his father, meeting new friends that helped him and Alexia being as supportive as she was but then they not just went through the same "i'l give you more romance even when you have seen it more than 20 times in OG and remakes together by this time but I'm gonna make it even more important with a love triangle. At the end he didn't even get closure with his dad, nothing about his real possibilities with UNI and how he didn't even have to choose between one friends or others if Noee and arthur would've been just friends. I would've love Arthur without a relationship but then it seems like all season have to revolve around having a relationship, OG or not and S6 is already going down that path.

In my personal opinion, while I agree with you for the most part, I wish they had done the opposite re: Alexia and Noée. They forced a relationship between Arthur and Alexia in order to make some sort of love triangle happen. And now alur are back to being platonic friends and really their relationship has barely changed from when they were together. They should have been platonic to begin with and let him have a romance with Noée if they had wanted a romantic relationship for Arthur. Platonic relationships ARE important- and he could’ve had that with Alexia the same way he did with the boys. He and Noée actually had chemistry. For the record, I’m not saying that romance is required at all, they could’ve gone without it completely, but IF they wanted to do it for Arthur’s season, that’s the way they should’ve gone instead of a love triangle imo.

About the romantic involvement between Arthur and Noée I think that because both Alexia and Noée represented the worlds that he felt he had to choose between he had to be equally « attracted » to them… so it made sense to me that it had to be either romantic between him and them or friendly but it couldn’t be romantic with one and not with the other. Plus disabled and characters who don’t fit with ideals of beauty (like Alexia) are rarely involved romantically with main characters (or characters that are loved as much as Arthur is) especially women… they usually get the side character or don’t have a love life at all. So this kind of representation was important to me (but that’s just my opinion). I do agree with you about the flashbacks tho I think it just felt out of place.

i really miss watching your videos so i literally typed skam france react so i could find you again. i also havent started season 6 because id like to do reaction videos on it. i totally agree on the skam france being a cinematic experience now versus an immersive one. i acc started following their socials halfway through season 5 but even now i feel like i dont need it to fully enjoy it. i truly love your content and the way you break down your thoughts and opinions about this amazing show we've all come to love. its wierd that youre the only reacter i can watch whole videos of. there was a point where i was watching season 3 and after the episode id still come back to your channel just to see what you thought of it, or if we had similar views on certain things. i love that youtube can do this for us, and i love that you put yourself out here to be heard.

I think you're probably right that we didn't *need* a romance between Noée and Arthur, but I still dug it. I kinda get what you are saying about the reveal of the abuse he suffered and them putting the kiss in there because we will feel sorry for him. But the way I see it is that, he has just had a wild and fantastic night with Noée, they're clearly falling for each-other and he felt he could trust her with his biggest secret, his shame, *his skam*. Noée kisses his as a comfort, Arthur accepts it for a moment as he feels close to her in having divulged it to her. But the kiss was not romantic, and of course, he immediately regrets. A lot of people think that there was too much drama crammed into the last few episodes. But I, for one, enjoyed the drama. One of the most best moments of the season for me was when Noée spoke. That she would do that, to fight for him

Yeah!! thank you for your reactions. I just think Arthur was very confused and seriously I'm not even sure he really felt in love with Noée(I'm not in his head/heart but that gave me this impression). Maybe he got confused/attached to her because she also had to deal with it too and she guide him through it. He had to deal with way too much things at the same time. That was crazy.
