3:38 you getting confused about smited / smitten is actually a nice and accurate prophecy for season 2 :)

Noah is so right, if there's one thing Crowley was gonna bring in every century, it was FASHION. David Tennant had never looked better.

Since you were commenting on Crowley's good looks during the golgatha scene (33 AD), I thought you would like to know that Neil Gaiman confirmed that Crowley is presenting female in that scene! This can be seen through her traditional female clothes and honestly good for her.

The "sauntered vaguely downwards" line is a quote from Crowley's introduction in the book: "An angel who did not fall so much as saunter vaguely downwards."

The scene with Shakespeare was filmed in the actual Globe Theatre where his plays were first performed. David Tennant filmed a Doctor Who episode there, in which there was a running gag where the Doctor would quote lines from Shakespeare plays and Shakespeare would say, "Hm, I might use that." Tennant had a very successful run as Hamlet toward the end of his Doctor Who era that got turned into a TV movie. (Michael Sheen also has played Hamlet.)

The angels and demons don't have genders and are non-binary/genderless, so that's why Crowley goes between presenting male or female since an angel/demon isn't either. They just have a human form.

I love this episode, and there's a lot of foreshadowing here. I love how it shows their relationship through the ages. I love how you're picking everything up. I'm sure I definitely didn't the first time seeing these. Also the bit where Crowley hands Aziraphale the books, I love how the romantic music kicks in. It is the moment that it clicks for Aziraphale that he is in love with him.

Good observation that Agnes was also a healer who was basically martyred.

In the books Shadwell is deeply unpleasant and racist to everyone to the point that everyone just sees him as a harmless old man stuck in his ways and just laugh off what he says to them. He's a lot more rude to madam tracy and i can see why they cut out the interaction he has with the newspaper shop guy as without the added narrative in the book the racism wouldn't fly on TV.

Honestly, have you ever seen Crowley eat? He drinks a lot, but does he eat at all, ever? I really wanted him to say yes to the oysters, though. Let's hope Aziraphale tempted him into going to lunch.

I like that you liked the delayed opening credits after the long cold open; a lot of reactors seem bothered by it. (I mean, they really couldn't break into the middle of that section, could they?)

@orangejuiceinmyshoe6305 My running headcanon for them is that they're both bottoms who are willing to compromise and top for each other when the situation calls for it bc they love each other lmaooo

Crowley may not be a top, but Aziraphale is definitely a bratty bottom. Take it from a dom, I can identify a brat when I see one. Crowley just winds up as a service top most of the time.
