After getting the augmented form, can you use elementary row operations to convert to the reduced row Echelon form before finding the values of x1,x2, and x3?

Of course, you can. When you leave it in RREF you have the leading diagonal to be all ones, thus the values in B becomes the answers X1, X2, x3
