Thats cool you still check out budget builds. I have a prefab box myself as there is not much car audio variety over here in Australia, just standard alpine, kicker, rockford and pioneer. Its hard to find any other brands. But I have a rockford box 2 x 12" and at first didn't sound the greatest, But ive squeezed every bit of output out of it, big 4 upgrade up front, went from 10 gauge to 4 gauge OFC wire for amp and full dyna matted interior of car. Each wire I upgraded up front made me charge at 0.1 v higher, so I started at 14.1v and now im at 14.5v makes all the difference on a low power amp.

For a Prefab the Box is Solid and well built. The SDR's are decent subs for the Money I believe they are like $89 a piece for the 12 and $80 for the 10. The Box for me is what I was really after, Planning on throwing in either 2 Sundown SA's or DC level 2's running off a Skar RP1500 @ 1ohm. Should Bang Nicely

It all depends how many subs u run. Most common is 2 and most amps can handle 1ohm load and that should be your aim is 1ohm. Ohms are basically how fast your current is moving within your subwoofer wires. So you will need 4ohm subs if your running 2 and once u jump ur voice coils that will bring each subwoofer down to 2ohms then running them together in series will bring them down to 1ohm which will get the most rms watts out of your amp!

Skar prefabs look so fantastic. I desperately want to try the 18" in their prefab. I hate it alot of their subs are inefficient, but that never stopped Alpines Type X. I have a type x 12" thats 82db efficient, and it shows.

I recently did a system in 2013 tahoe. Dual 12s like yours with a NVX XAD 16. 8000w 1 channel 1 ohm 2 runs of 0 and 2 0 grounds and I'm VERY impressed with the skars. Will need a 350 amp alt and going with 2 deep cycles and going with 4 15 orion xtrs For the price you CANT beat them. Knowing how they sound I would of did 3 boxes of the skars. Instead of orions

That setup with the 1500 w amp goes hard for a prefab loaded enclosure , the subs are recessed and there are threaded steel inserts for the sub screws

For the price they hold up, ran them over a year on a crossfire 6k and surprised they held up. Ran a SDR on a taramps 5k and it held for 2 weeks of straight abuse. For $100 bucks not a bad sub.

Each to their own but for the money the SKAR Dual 12 SDR package Rp1200 amp,wiring,box and dual 12 inch subs cant be beat from what I have seen..For the money! Puting these in Jeeps that come stock with a 160 amp alternator ,voltage will stay around 13.7 to 14 volts and pound pretty damn good...Will they play 25hrtz with authority? Of course not! They are 100 dollar budget subs! Set your subsonic filter at around 30 hrtz so it they will roll of down in the twenties but still be heard so you don't send them to the grave...In the 30's and 40's though you will definitely piss off your neighbors😁 Just my opinion but for the money you spend with this set up...You have some damn decent bass👍 P.S. get a cheap 7 band EQ...turn down the 125 hrtz setting all the way down to -12 DB...And tinker with the 50hrtz knob....It helps the coils from slapping on heavy bass transitions in bass heavy songs...My wife and neighbors know I am coming home from a block or two away👍For the money you won't be disappointed 👌Oh yeah and for those that say the Skar EVLs are the way to go and not the SDRs. ...you would be correct....if you have the electrical to push 2 of them...Don't waist your time putting a 2400 watt RMS set up in your ride on stock electrical...You would be dropping into very low voltage every time the bass hits👍

I’ve never seen this car for myself but my father had a blazer that had a 2 gauge wire and said he could put a quarter on the dashboard and the bass would flip the quarter and also blow peoples shirts up and down I wish I remembered what all speakers he had in it but he traveled the east coast with his blazer and would beat almost everyone expect for people who had like 2000 watt and higher if it was built good and his was relatively low wattage for who it was beating also funny thing my family talks up about one guy in my city who puts in sound systems and helps people tune them but my father was the man who taught him and they refuse to listen

I've had a single 12 evl that comes with the pre fab box. Its tuned to 38hz. It sucks cus it doesn't get low enough. I spend 200 on a custom box and that shit plays on the low 25hz loud af. Mind u that the custom box i got for it its 32hz

@@hugog7152 most people don't even consider these boxes because of their size I run one but it's out of convenience because I have a pickup and want big bass without sacrificing any cabin space 🤷 you can have your box be externally mounted or internal but I not sure if they are the subs for it🤷( blow though) or (6th or 4th order) boxes

Skar isn't really the brand to go with for sq. Personally, if you're able to make a box yourself I'd go with dayton audio. And if you need prefab stuff I'd go with kicker L7s.

The rp series amps from skar are super cheap and this guy needs one bad..I recommend anything from the rp1200.1 to the rp2000.1....he will be happy with results promise..👌🏼✌🏼

Billy Peterson I had a RP2000.1D & was completely unhappy with it. (Thats stating it in the biggest possible way) I would give every reason why not to buy the amp but Skar's customer service is 5star. They happily refunded my money & asked zero questions. I have a Taramps Smart3 now and love it! If I buy another Skar amp it will be the Korea SKV Series. I will not own another Chinese Skar RP series. Skar RP-2000.1D =$239.99 NEW Taramps Smart3 =$279.99 NEW Not hating on Skar, I really like Skar & my Skar sub is great! Its just Skar could have done a better job with RP2000.1D.

@@billygames7107 I had terrible luck out of the RP2000.1D that I had. That thing stayed crazy hot & would protect so easy. My electrical was more than sufficient for it, idk why it was so sensitive. I had it for a month before finally getting into touch with skar & they refunded my $ quick & never asked a single question. I've been using the Taramps Smart3 on my zvx18 at 1 ohm & that thing absolutely drills. Never gets hot & very power efficient! This Smart3 pounds bass HEAVY songs for song after song after song for 45 mins plus without breaking a sweat. I honestly never expected this Taramps to be this stout & able to play so hard for so long! Its a world of difference between the Skar RP-2000.1D & it only costs $40 more. Tbh I actually just ordered a quality Korean 3500 watt a couple hours ago. So I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm anxious to hear how it makes my zvx18 sound. Will be my first Korean amp. I had to get one because everyone talks about how great the bass sounds from the Koreans & how great the quality of Korean amps are. Plus having a Bluetooth amplifier is going to be the TITS! Should sound amazing being able to Bluetooth music straight from phone to amp, completely bypassing the head unit or need for RCAs!
