I bought one last night from y'all's ebay store it was a refurbished marine amp. I like the color scheme better it's gonna power one of my Sundown SA V3 8"s should be nice lol. I already know I'll prob need to atleast get the 1200 or possibly 1500 version but atm the 800 should be good. I know these amps do over 1200 @ 1ohm and 0.5 ohm it runs at 1k or more rms can't remember what the peak was but it was kinda high lol. I used to repair and mod and what some may call supercharge amps. So I may end up beefing it up a little bit in the future if not I'll have it push my woofers in the doors

I listen to a lot of radio when I commute to/from work, and in the past I have had problems with class d amplifiers causing a lot of interference to FM reception. I'm considering this model, but has anyone complained about that with this amplifier? Could you do any test on that?

I have used this amp RP800 for a few years with great results on a (1) Skar 10” SVR DVC2 in factory Skar ported carpet enclosure with great results although haven’t used FM radio since Sirius dropped years ago and Apple Iphones with KZbin but the RP800 is a “Great Amp” priced right and does work in a big way! most amps now are mosfet instead of the old school Toshiba pill that is now no longer in production and the mosfets are smaller and more efficient .

Hey! I just got my Skar audio RP-800.1DM. The issue I'm having is the amp isn't playing music loud at all. Even at max volume on the radio, you have to put your ear against it to hear the sound. Without the amp, the sound is fine. Something is wrong with the amp but not sure what it is. Please help. Thanks!

I just heard of skar audio from my next door neighbor Mr. Jones he have 8 evl 6.5 subwoofers in his tahoe sounds nice and crisp and I'm in love with the sound. I really want to buy some skar audio speakers for my 1996 mercury grand marquis i want the tx68 tx 69 and i want 2 evl 6.5 subwoofers and put them in a box where the spare tire goes and i want to know what's a good amp to push them

You can adjust the gain using a dmm to get a ballpark or just wire to a higher ohm

Well this is 3 years too late but 800w at 1 ohm should be damn close to 400w at 2 ohm, you should be able to adjust your gain normally. If your speaker can actually handle it's RMS rating, which many can't.

Gain I wouldn't go past like 70-80% low pass I usually turn it down pretty low, subsonic i won't even say because I haven't figured out exactly what that does but hope this helps you out a little bit

Put the sub sonic 10hz below your box tune so if your box is tuned at 32hz play a 22hz tone and your gain would be best if you got a cheap oscilloscope off Amazon to know where distortion starts starting with your head unit using a 40hz test tone. And on your lpf play a 80hz song and use a volt meter on ac and start at the highest and start lowering it down and when you get to 80hz you will notice your voltage will start dropping.

@@imBriz cheap amps are inefficient as hell. Compare power draw of a rockford hybrid a/b + d amp to a cheap Chinese skar. Rockford can pull 2.5x the RMS at same power draw as a skar.

G Vargas yes, but 30-45 minutes of continuous use it overheats and goes into protect. I really liked it but replaced it with Fosgate P500x1bd, it has much better heatsink and even though it's rated 500rms it did 798 on dyno

Ascap 850 I am having the same exact problem with this amp, after about 30-45 minutes it goes into protect mode. At first I thought I had a wiring issue but I guess its a common problem with this amp. Its a great amp but I now know I won't be buying another Skar audio amp.

if you can't keep an amplifier cool of course it will go into protect, all amps go into protect at a certain temp, even old school amps did. it's to prevent internal circuitry failure, and your vehicle from going up in flames. *All Skar Amps are underrated they are very close in similarity to Sundown Amps*
