Couple things: I forgot to show a test of loading a session marker. (no difference). im posting a video to my Twitter for everyone to see. This is how my capture card shows HDR. The only way to see true HDR is with your own eyes on your own TV. I didnt show load times for other consoles, because theres really no difference.

Because this is emulated, if skate 3 was an Xbox one game, then it’d have loading time increase. The game was also one x enhanced so it’s running that on Series X. Benefits is only Auto HDR, Quick Resume

It's so much sharper on the series x, that's about all I see different. Also, 120 Hz is not 120 FPS. If your monitor is capable of 120 Hz, which I'm sure yours is, then the game can do 120 FPS. If the game is pumping 120 FPS and your monitor caps at 60 Hz you will only see 60 FPS.

My TV is my bedroom is 4K60 HDR. My monitor is 4K60 HDR and 1080p120. I play on my monitor when recording KZbin. Everything is wired in my house to run on any TV and play from any room.

See you might be comparing this to the Xbox One version, but im playing this game on an old Xbox 360 arcade model. The difference in terms of smoothness and framerate is immense! The Xbox 360 does a great job but this is probably the superior way of playing the game 👍. Who knows how great Skate 4 will turn out on this generation?

All I really seemed to notice was that the visuals appeared brighter. I don't expect the graphics to improve tremendously, but it's possible that the image could be sharper, too. I couldn't tell, but maybe it's my eyes or monitor? Either way, it's cool to see people can still enjoy the games they used to even 10 years back on modern hardware. This is definitely the biggest selling point of the Xbox line in my opinion, and it's a shame Sony hasn't been able to have the same success. Their consoles are just that much harder to program for, though. Not to mention they don't build off of the same hardware like Microsoft seems to do. Either way, cheers to Microsoft for being able to accomplish what it has in the last 20-ish years. Not big into Xbox, but it's going to be really cool to see where the upcoming console generation takes us.

lol. The smoking thing is fake a believe. I’ve been playing hours on it every night, and it’s remained quiet, no overheating or smoke . I did test the disc drive and it seems to be fine and quiet too.

My HDR looks way less washed out than yours does. Like it's a bit too bright on your side, but idk how you have agency over that. Cause the game doesn't have any independent brightness settings

@@MrGoldenfresh I mean... I have an X1. I use that feature daily. The Series X specifically advertises that you can keep more than 1 game in the quick-resume cache. The idea is that you can be playing Skate, then leave and play a round of Halo, then come back to Skate exactly where you left it.

@@SeekerGoldstone that's also quick resume, it's more than just that. I have the series x. When you unplug your Xbox one x, it won't resume your games. It turns the Xbox off, it doesn't on my series x it keeps it loaded. It also does the switching games thing.

The reason why your HDR is washed out is that it isn't celebrated correctly, you have activated it on your Xbox but most people have the same washed-out look until they calibrate it. This is done through the Xbox and your TV settings. There are a lot of Xbox and TV tutorials for this online. It takes a bit of messing about but it's worth it in the long run for most of the old titles.

my thinking is series x has a lot more 4k textures to load so prob why not getting much of a speed boost and the fact they didn't make skate 3 optimized for the new series velocity architecture system so basically you are getting the one x version(playing in bc mode not taking full advantage of hardware unlike when the one x came out they updated the game for one x) until ea makes a series optimized version

I know this might sound like the dumbest thing to some skate fans. But to me Skate 1 looks the best , feels the best, and if they could just improve certain things on it I feel like it's the best for recreating real life skating, where the later games were more about going huge and doing 900+ and whatever. I wish they would add getting off your board features to 1 and improved graphics. Maybe a little more snappy controls but besides that they nailed the satisfaction of successfully popping a high flip trick to a high ledge in that game, where the later games feel more floaty and it was all easy to pop tricks to ledges. I love the locations in 1, the camera angle, the character models, the skate physics. Hope they add some of that feel to skate 4 instead of going way far in the goofy mega ramp direction that parts of the later game went.

as much as I want a ps5, I got a free copy of cyberpunk 2077 for one/series x, and I love skate 3. ps5 can not play skate 3, neither can it play bo2 (one of my all time favourites). so really it's a no brainer for me. Plus ps5 doesn't have expandable storage (yet at least).

We can't see a real difference when you're testing hdr as you're not recording the video in hdr (or at least the video has not been encoded as an hdr one, so we can't enable it on KZbin).
