UNTIL it took til GTA V for Rockstar to take these many years off. I don’t care if it’s from the ground up or they build on similar systems. You know what else Rockstar has done? They stfu until it was time to actually announce the game with a full trailer, gameplay footage, showcasing story mode, the characters, insane graphic etc. and announced the release date to be 2025. Plus the number of games doing well with only a couple of years does not matter but they exist. Again this is EA. So what EA should’ve done is stfu until they were confident and got to a process and well established stage in the game’s development cycle. They have been around for decades. Stop caping for them.

because playtest builds are NOT on the same branch as development builds, so the dev builds are probably far further along. playtest builds are months old for stability reasons and are meant to test specific features, not the whole branch.

as much as we love the transparency of "we're working on it." and no need for a release date... the game skate. is becoming might as well just launch in early access sooner than later. it clearly is not a sequel to the full-priced games we loved with a story and missions. it's a free to play online always game that's going to evolve over time. i say just give us all access as soon as possible or surprise us with an announcement that it will still have a single-player campaign mode
