I watched a transworld or 411 skatevideo in around 1999-2000 that had Danny Montoya doing a bunch of nollie tricks. I was in 8th grade at the time. I watched my VHS tape meticulously and I would go practice tricks. -- The song that was playing at the time was perfectly synced with the tricks he was doing -- I would have the song stuck in my head the whole time I was skateboarding. I went and found the song. It was a song called "Focused Daily" by an artist named Defari. Me living in white suburban america, I'd never heard of it before. A year or so later when I got my driver's license, one of the first things I did was drive to Best Buy and I bought the CD. 13-14 years later in 2013 or so, someone asked me how I became so interested in 'underground' hip-hop. I got to thinking and I traced it back down to this time period in my life. The album is produced by The Alchemist, and the track featured Evidence, who I would later re-discover when I bought Dilated Peoples 'The Platform LP'. Prety cool to see that the music in this video here features songs by the alchemist. I can't pinpoint the titles of the songs but I know that I've listened to it. I've bought pretty much everything The Alchemist has done. -- So Danny Montoya, if you're reading this, thanks for the influence mr. nollie king! lol

Pretty much. I'm not gonna say like drivers are the "friendliest" to skaters, but its pretty common to encounter pedestrians on the street. People either swerve or slow down. The only times people have ever honked at me have been when I cut them off or when someone is trolling.

Downtown has a lot of steep hills and ruthless drivers and homeless people. You can't really see that so much in this video, but Danny is so bad ass he makes it look like nothing at all.
