Time to shred into some Konami action with the 8BS revamp, with the port of a home computer classic, Skate or Die! One of many catchy soundtracks in the lineup of Konami NES games, thanks in part to Kouji Murata who has thankfully been found to be the one in charge of this port, Arranging the well known Skate or Die Intro theme by Rob Hubbard, and the various in-game themes by Kyle Granger from the C64 version, which this port is based off of. Murata does bring at least two new tunes with the "Shop" and "Scores for Ramp" themes, a nice mix of conversions and few original tunes makes this a lovely NES soundtrack! Nothing says late 80's and early 90's like some skateboarding action, and this game has it all with its variety of competitions and events! Konami does a good job porting this from most notably the C64 version, graphics got that Konami charm, and of course, the music is pumpin' with those drum samples and recognizable Konami style! As stated, this port takes form the C64 counterpart, with Kouji Murata doing a fantastic job converting Rob Hubbard's Title Screen classic from that version, along with all the in-game songs originally done by Kyle Granger, with Murata only able to contribute two original songs of his own to the OST, but that's okay as together its a wonderful NES package that many are fond of! :)

I'm sure others have already said something to this degree, but I wanted to say your work is seriously invaluable for the purpose of preserving all these soundtracks. I've been following this channel for years and it's always been my go-to. While I used to think nobody would ever beat the sound of grad1u5's rips, the infrequency and unreliability of that channel (their most recent uploads were a batch of eight videos three years ago after a PRIOR three-year hiatus) has always placed your channel as the greatest in my eyes, and the fact that you've not only gone and put in even more work to further perfect your mastering process, but are now wiping the slate clean and reuploading everything to be up to the new standard of quality is next-level. Thank you for everything you've done and will do, and here's hoping by the end of it all there won't be a single FC/NES OST missing from the channel. As it is, I'm just holding my breath waiting for The Guardian Legend and The Immortal to pop up in my sub feed.

@@-snek. Thank you very much, this is what I love to see and feel the good I'm doing, of course I'll take criticism as well for the original uploads with the excessive reverb/echo used, and hell some still prefer the originals of OSTs already being uploaded, which I don't get those weirdos, I think I let them be used to the old uploads for too long. lol But I'm glad you see the purpose of making sure these soundtracks are preserved and especially in my case spreading the most accurate knowledge as possible with Composers, Arrangers, Sound Programmers, Sound Drivers and Developers, which sadly a lot of info on past uploads are hugely incorrect, but that's part of the ongoing researching that I'm thankful others have conducted or found for accurate information pertaining to all of that, and definitely 9 years some info was either not known or just incorrect. grad1u5's are definitely unique among the main 3 (which I said in an update video to the revamp that GBelair, grad1u5 and myself were the main NES soundtrack uploading channels), but yes the gap in uploads was a bummer, and hell it happened to me as well, with very large gap of months in uploads in 2019 & 2020, but I was definitely ready for this revamp, it was much needed. But thank you for your kind words, hope to get to those OSTs you want sooner than later! Doing my best to keep 2-3 uploads a week for now, so we shall see how it goes! :)

One of the first NES games I ever rented. The music is super nostalgic for me. Especially the skate shop music.

It's great nostalgic music, the two original tunes Kouji Murata composed for this are great, "Scores for Ramp" has to be my favorite from this OST.

It's a good one, especially for being the chillest of the in-game Skate Event themes, my favorite goes to "Scores for Ramp", something about that loop is lovely~

I know why Skate or Die can get a bad rap... but damn if I didn’t love this game as a kid, and I can definitely point to this game and its “theming” as one of the first instances I determined I liked something specifically because of its SWEET 80’s vibe. SkaTe oR DIE!! ☠️

Gotta love the sweet 80's vibes of Skateboarding before it really got upgraded in the 90's. I could never get into Skateboarding IRL or for games but really all they need is sweet musics to remember them by 😎

I've seen channels do my similar layout/format since I've started, which frankly is bit of an honor. There is an upload from the classic "TimmyTurnersGrandDad" channel that did a "Mega Man 2 (NES) Soundtrack - TTGD's 8BitStereo" which had then informed me on the "bait n switch" style uploads made popular by Silvagunner, which mostly played up on my use of heavy reverb in my early uploads, was nice to actually get comments and interaction from some of the Rippers/contributors on that upload for it. And also channel like "TJtheWizard2002" who are neat for doing the info text on screen, which is nice to put that respective credit upfront on screen, and they've done some sweet uploads for OST's that most don't put up, but looks like they've ditched the info text now, which is shame I liked seeing them do my format, but hey better then the channels that just rip my versions and/or the Logos of myself, which is an odd one :P

Game was "Meh" for me but the TITLE alone is amazing. It's a rare game from its era with some memorable characters and extras. And the music is classic Ultra/ Konami from the 80s.

The C64 versions are neat but I think Kouji Murata did much better with the in-game Skate Event conversions to the NES, Rob Hubbard still is the king of the original Title/Intro tune on the C64
