Happy to have been a young skater during his 80's peak. His artwork on those boards is imprinted on me in a big way.

Correction for the video description: *THE* most iconic graphic artist in the skateboard industry, Jim Phillips. VCJ comes in a close second.
@jasondashney4 жыл бұрын
Depends on your age I think. For me it was Sean Cliver. He's behind the same number of World Industries/Dwindle classic beyond classics from my early, formative years (early 90's) as Jim and VCJ were to the generation 1/6 dozen years earlier.

The Natas panther in the video was designed by Wes Humpston. Jim Phillips did the other one.

I thought Kevin Ancell drew the original panther? I'm old and my memory is shot.
@MosquitoCreative6 жыл бұрын
I think Chris Buchinsky did the first panther graphic, Jim Phillips and Wes Humpston did the next three. The one that's shown in this video is Wes Humpston's artwork.

PEOPLE THAT ARE INTERESTED IN THIS MIGHT BE ABLE TO ANSWER THIS. what happened to bullet wheels? i know you can still get the 66mm but i mean the normal ones. i used to rock the 95a 60mm for years. speaking of that, why dont they make 95a wheels any more?

Last deck I had was a SantaCruz ever slick. It broke in half after I did a judo air off a launch ramp. The deck wasn’t even a week old. Best deck I ever had was a Hensley stained glass window double kick. The best graphics ever were from World Industries. The Vallely farm deck started it all. Last trick I learned was a 360 flip back in 91. I quit it 92. Wish I never did quit. 30 years later I weigh a buck fifty and if I didn’t have a bad back I’d still be skating. Tom Knox said it best: Once a skater always a skater.

80's graphics were generally SO much better than the mindless idiotic garbage you see on boards today. A lot of modern designers seem to be mentally retarded people or satanists that think that just because it's printed on a board it somehow magically becomes 'cool'... There are so many 80's decks I'd buy purely to have them as a piece of art on the wall!...
