An easy way to remove the grip tape is to heat the edge and get it to peel up a little bit, then roll a wooden dowel down underneath the grip. It will make removing it much much easier.

Where did you getbthe blade?Its pretty unusual but looks very simple and utilitarian.

Thats a Svord Peasant blade. From New Zealand. The steel is L6. Its good steel, but it tends to rust easily and leave a metallic taste on stuff, like if you cut open and eat apples with it, youll notice an odd taste. But, lots of knife makers start out using this blades because they are very cheap. Like around $10 cheap.
