20 years ago, i dabbled in the art of carpet boarding. It worked well for me. Especially when learning switch/nollie flips. Great way to figure out the trick mechanics and foot placements.

You're local skate shops should have blank decks for about 30 bucks minimum. Trucks and wheels will be the most expensive pieces you buy. I bought the cheapest stuff I could for a board I had and it came out to 70 bucks.

I got mine this week. I’m struggling with balancing on the board. These really help. I’m looking forward to actually rolling at some point. I got a skate board to help learn balancing for inline skating which I can’t do. However, my idea to learn balance and rolling on a skateboard because it would be easier was correct. I like skateboarding and I’m going to keep it up even after I learn inline skating. 👍☮️🛹🙂

No, for beginners it is easy, for experienced skaters it is hard because you aren't used to doing tricks standing still... I've used them myself, they do make it easier
