Skaters in 2023 are doing video game level kinda tricks! In today's video I react to SLS's recent competition off their remake of the famous Wilshire 15. #skateboarding #sls #lamontholt

You just gotta be really athletic asf, I know that skaters usually don’t look athletic cause they skinny but them motherfuckers are athletic asf and skate the whole damn day everyday of your life or every weekend depending on how you develop I believe you can do it

Theres still reasons to skate tho, for me it regulates my mental health and pulls me out of my head. I dont hold a candle to this skill level but still find a hunger to skate again after a long time off from a broken hip. My world sux until i skate again. I was the lowest skill in our scene but im one of the only few who still skate in their 40s. Dudes who critisized me are fat 9 to 5 normies now, "i dont sk8 no more im too fat and have kids to raise" is there excuse. Dont stop skating because of ppl who are better. We live forever as long as we skate at any skill level.

the dude who did the wallride is JhanCarlos Gonzalez, he's been on Creature camp for 10 years or something like that, just recently turned pro for them. Most haven't heard from him because he is from Colombia, but he has been out here making a name for himself in countless local, regional, and international contests. He represented Colombia in the Tokyo Olympics. So yeah the dude is a certified pro, as someone who has seen him rip in person, it comes as no surprise he's that good and quick to murder a contest. Hopefully they do him justice with a decent part next year.

It's crazy how they had like 30 guys in a row casually hit tricks on this stair set that would've been the highlight of a tape/edit 20 years ago. The progression of skating and action sports in general in the 21st century has been crazy. The bar just keeps getting raised. If I tried to recreate these tricks I would most likely kill myself on the first attempt 😂
@rudestbeast49077 ай бұрын
yea its way beyond me but i still enjoy what i can stll do, sometimes i have to take a break to get dopamine again from my same ole tricks but i've become more creative with the few i still know and neighborhood gives me respect because im still skating at almost 50, its crazy because even the cops are cool now instead of chasing and tackling us they just say be careful for ppl which i always am and dismount when they pass by, i prefer the company of the gutter punks and old drunks in wheel chairs over most other skaters. i dont want to hear about the X games or who did a 900 off a roof top.

I was one of the best skaters in my local scene. I'm old and fat now, but I watched a few clips that popped up on my feed of current skaters. Like random tiktoks or some shit. I was like "oh this must be a collection of the new shit. Normal people don't do shit like this." I was **convinced** it was just the finales of pros I didn't know since I've been out of the scene. Literally just casual busting of tricks that would have cemented people as #1 of all time when I was skating.

How skating is developing reminds me a ton of how the first guy to break records and run a 4.5 min mile opened up the idea that you COULD run faster and now a ton of people have done it. Seeing it with lifting as 315 is the new 135. Seems to be sped up with social media and easily widespread knowledge now. People know they can push themselves further than people of the past. Super cool to see.

This can and always will be traced back to one name : Steve Rocco. He didn't pave the way,he didn't kick in the door, no....he burned the whole house down(and some bridges too!LOL!).
