You forgot to mention the most important new feature....the carbon fiber H insert!!!!!

Yup, you are absolutely correct! That insert is a game changer with this shoe. At the time of shooting the video, the insert had not been finalized and it didn't make it into the final video. Thank you for pointing it out, it is a very important feature to the shoe.

Skechers is my favorite brand of running shoe! Will be highly interested when the reviewers get a full review of this shoe. I currently have in my rotation the Razor 3, 7+, and the Max Road 4. These are all older models but great shoes. Hoka has really been owning this space and I will be glad to see how the Max Road 5 does.

Is the weight gain due to the carbon fiber insert in the midsole? Just ran a 100 mile road race in the Maxroad 4+. Perfect shoe for this type of effort!

Thanks for the question - After speaking with Michael, he said the slight weight increase was mostly due to the outsole changing to a more durable GoodYear rubber. To help counter this increase, the upper on the 5 is lighter than the 4, so there is only a slight change due to the improvements from 4 to 5.

Is the 4+ more stable platform than the plain, and ugly, MR4? ty

@@filoIII The midsole is exactly the same but the upper is completely revamped. If you felt the instability due to the weird pods on the midsole on the MR4, you will have the same results on the MR 4+. I didn't have stability problems with either version though.
