Thank you very much. One thing I wish we had was a fix for the front bump steer when the suspension is compressing. There seems like the geometry is off a little bit. We had the same problem with pascal’s suspension/steering and he came up with a fix for it in the spindles/a arms.
@BuildItBetter3D2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a rack steering mod that I believe fixes this issue. I have not yet tried it, but it looks like a simple and good solution. It can be found in the mods files on MyMiniFactory. Look for jibberjabbs rack, Knuckle and upperarm.

@@BuildItBetter3D thank you and yeah it does help but I wish we could figure out the bump steer a little more. But thanks again and I absolutely love my skeeride!!👍👍👍

Just purchased your kit thanks. I was wondering what softwear you used to make the hood. Im only familar with fusion 360 and solidworks from engineering design class.
@BuildItBetter3D Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use Blender. It’s very different from fusion 360.
@tylermcbride2807 Жыл бұрын
@BuildItBetter3D OK that's cool, did you use fusion for the mechanical components or the track, or just blender as well.
@BuildItBetter3D Жыл бұрын
I use Blender for everything. It’s not the ideal software for mechanical things but I’ve been using it for 14+ years, so it’s just what I use.

How about use Soft material for the track?
@BuildItBetter3D2 жыл бұрын
Many people are printing the track in tpu. I think they are having good results. There are files for printing specifically in tpu.

Pla or petg?
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
I’m using regular PLA for all of my builds. Many others are doing PLA+ or PETG. I’m not sure it makes much difference as long as you’re getting good layer adhesion and using enough perimeters.

cool snowmobile man! Im still blown away with how cool it looks. Is it your design from scratch???
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, I did it all from scratch. I did look at a lot of others for inspiration, especially pascals sleds. I based it off of the ski-do freeride, but changed things here and there to help with printing.

That looks great! Super smooth running and easy build, nice work. I have a 1/5 scale rmk with a 185 track and assault front end it's stable and runs great now for 2 seasons

Hi, I’ve just bought the plans and will start the printing process shortly. I’m just doing some ordering of the parts I need and I have gotten to the hardware. Would you or anyone be able to tell me what M3 screws are required. If you would be able to tell me how many of each bolt and the size required that would be great. If no, could you please tell me the lengths that are needed as I don’t want to buy a large assorted box that contains lots of length screws I don’t need. I would rather purchase them separately from my local hardware store. This would be very helpful. Thanks.
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t counted or measured, it’s much cheaper to buy an assortment then it is to buy them individually.
@HarleyCaplin3 жыл бұрын
@@BuildItBetter3D I do understand that however the cost isn’t a problem as I get discount and the price probably would work out about the same. They are much better quality when they are bought not in a set. Would you just be able to tell me off the top of your head roughly the lengths needed and if there are any lengths that are not needed. I’ll order more than I need but I would just like a rough idea. Thanks.
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head I’d say 80-100 screws ranging in length from 4-35mm. Most will be in the 16-18mm range, probably 10 each of the other sizes, but this is all kind of a guess. I can count them later.
@HarleyCaplin3 жыл бұрын
@@BuildItBetter3D thanks very much for your reply. That rough idea does really help me. Just a suggestion that it may be a good idea to count them later and add a list of the quantity and sizes of each screw as well as nuts and washers to a hardware page on the plans. I wouldn’t mind this information and it would really help. As people are buying the plans and they are not free it would just be something nice to be included. I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering the size of screws and quantity. Thanks.

I just put it inside wherever it fits, no specific mounting spot. Usually it fits pretty good in the side section opposite from the transmission.
