SkeeRide Assembly Part 1-- 3D Printed Snowmobile
Files Available here: www.myminifactory.com/object/...
You will need to print 2 of the "Rear Roller" and 1 of everything else in the "Skid" folder.
This is a fully 3D printable RC snowmobile.
This was designed from the very beginning with easy assembly and minimal purchased parts as the goal. I think I have accomplished that goal. Everything is printed except for: Electronics, screws, bearings, and shocks. It can be printed on a print bed 200mm x 200 mm or larger. Most items do not need any supports but there are a few that will need some.
I have created a Discord channel for support: / discord
Please join and contribute to this awesome hobby.
Many of the parts of my design are inspired from other snowmobile projects that I have seen. I have reached out to those that some of my work might resemble. If you feel something looks similar to your work and you did not receive a message from me please reach out to me. Nothing in my design is a modified version of others work, All of it was hand made by me, but some may still resemble that of images I used for reference.
Disclaimer: Due to printer abilities being different and always changing, and the nature of an off road vehicle there is a good chance you will break parts. Luckily they should be easy to reprint and fix rather quickly. I will do my best to provide support through discord and if files are found in need up improvement I will do my best to improve and then include for free for those who have purchased the snowmobile. I give no guarantee that it will print perfect on your machine or that things will not break when you send the sled flying off a cliff. This list is to help you get an idea of the items you might consider for your build. You should do your own research. These links are affiliate links, meaning the price is the same but I receive a small percentage if you use my links.

Good video. My recommendation. You need to call each parts you grab by the print name and type of hardware you use. you could also modify video by putting caption of parts name and hardware used. Also, You could file the 3D printing parts by color.

Thanks. I can’t edit the video now that it’s up. I had all the files nicely organized in folders but that got lost when uploading to MyMiniFactory. Not sure why my file structure was lost since they say they will maintain the folder structure. I do have a pdf with file names and what they go to, I’ll be adding it to the discord channel soon.

It mounts with the front holes on the skid. It’s there for adding a limit strap. I haven’t seen a need for the limit strap but wanted to provide the option.

my shocks that i bought use a smaller screw top and bottom. are there any shocks that come with that 3mm size ball socket. i see that ur 55mm shock had that metal piece when it was laying on your table but then when you were installing it it was removed. it seems like way too much play to not have anything in there.
@BuildItBetter3D
@BuildItBetter3D Жыл бұрын
It’s hard to find shocks that length with a 3mm ball. Most people just pop the ball out. You could print a small bushing to fill in the play if it bothers you. I haven’t noticed any issues with it being a little loose.

Love this, I am in the prosses of printing my own as we speak I noticed that you call out 2 different type of m3 screws i was wondering does it matter which assortment you buy? i need help understanding which motor to buy as well and understanding the motor with what type of amp ESC to buy
@BuildItBetter3D
@BuildItBetter3D Жыл бұрын
The only spot that requires button head screws is inside the tunnel at the front so the track doesn’t hit. Anywhere else you can use whatever type you prefer. For motor I recommend 2200kv brushless with minimum 60amp ESC. Go higher amp ESC and sensored brushless if you can afford it. You’ll find tons of help and recommendations on the discord server.

There is a list of links to items included with the files. It seems around 2200kv and 80 amp ESC is the best combo. Then a good high torque metal gear servo. I print mine in PLA, a lot of people prefer PLA +. Some brands are stronger than others. There's a lot of good info on the Discord Server.

@@BuildItBetter3D Never used that software. I use fusion 360. And I have made 2 snowmobiles already. Nothing like yours and detail. I was testing out designs. Reason I asked about software was because I have been testing out a weight ballace system using a gyro and a reverse switch mixing so that I can shift the weight and counter steer to carve like real sleds. I own a 2020 and a 2021 skidoo 850 summits sleds and thats why I want an rc one. That and im huge into rc with over 250 rc planes,helis,car,trucks,boats, and you name it. When I print yours and see how it all goes together, I will let you know about my counter weight ideas and how they turn out.
@BuildItBetter3D
@BuildItBetter3D 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds great. I have used Fusion a little, but I’m more comfortable with blender. Also if I used fusion I couldn’t sell my stuff without paying for the commercial version, and I can justify that. I have been thinking about a gyro system too, seems like something could be done.
